It's a must-download for anyone who enjoys games that require fast reflexes and quick thinking, or just wants to have a blast while making sure humanity sticks around for a while.

Strikefleet Omega is free but it's a real "serious" game, a classic RTS with a good upgrade system. In-App purchases are attractive but not necessary.

Strikefleet Omega invokes some very happy memories of one of PC gaming's greatest triumphs, Homeworld. While this is a far more arcade-like, simplistic and brisk version of that classic RPS, we've given up hope on a third installment of the game ever seeing the light of day, and so this is just what we need to keep us occupied on the way to work in the mornings.

The visuals are very well done, making it easy to track the action even on small iPhone and iPod screens.

The ability to call in your own ships and draw out flight patterns for your ships grants flexibility seldom found in traditional tower defense games. Yet, that constant threat and anticipation of waves is completely intact, creating a good spin on tower defense (ship defense?) that I hope to see more of in the future.

A fresh and well considered space-bound strategy experience like no other, Strikefleet Omega even manages to escape the IAP asteroid field relatively unscathed.
