What's so great about this game is that it delivers a true sensation of underwater combat without getting all hung up on the details that would normally lead to frustration.

Throw in some fun surface sequences and you've got a really well-rounded, classic shooter.

Its combo of intense, old-school action-shooter gameplay... with entirely original elements (the sonar effect is genius) has me hooked.

If you’re the type of player that enjoys naval themes or even if you just like a lot of guns-blazing, shoot-‘em-up action, the game is destined to be a bona fide sleeper hit. Don’t miss the boat.

May take on a little water in the graphics department, but nonetheless swims along nicely in the action genre.

Though the graphics and sound are fairly basic (aside from a few lighting touches and stylish cinematics, Sub Rebellion could be a PSone game), the gameplay packs a more detailed punch.

After playing it for a while and as the game begins to get challenging, feelings of accomplishment and tension during battles start to creep in, and the game starts to evoke a decent bit of emotion.

The overall solid game design barely avoids being overshadowed by unexceptional production values.

Although Sub Rebellion isn't the best-looking game on the block, it is still a lot of fun to play. Huge bosses have numerous targets to destroy and the action can get intense.

If you're the type of player who enjoys naval themes or even if you just like a lot of guns-blazing, shoot-'em-up action, it's well worth sinking your money into this title.

It may grow a bit tired deeper into the game but the formula works well.

Its biggest fault is the fact that - underwater setting or not - it's very plodding for an action game, due in large part to some overly cumberson controls.

Because of this control scheme, moving your sub is a constant frustration, as positioning your sub is very hard, and precise movements are damn near impossible.
