Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League is only $3.50 on steam, allowing you to poke around 2024's most interesting failures at the price of a cheeseburger

You can call me a softie if you want, but I feel bad for Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League. It was a bad attempt at live service, which cost Warner Bros. $200,000,000, and fell short of all expectations. The Steam numbers were comparable to Gotham Knights, a game that is two years older.

Rocksteady's pathetic trot out of its promised roadmap felt more like watching someone slowly die who had already been beaten to death on the side of the road. In this metaphor, the character did stand in an extremely rough part of town while yelling "hopefully no one beats me!" I am more frustrated with the waste of the developers' hard work by executives at the top.

You can now get Suicide Squad: Killed the Justice League for the price of a cheeseburger. It's currently 95% discounted on Steam. That makes it around $3.50 for PS3 until the Steam Autumn Sale ends, December 4. If you use the US prices of McDonald's as a benchmark, this is a triple-A game worth approximately 146% more than a cheeseburger. It's also worth 83% more than a double cheeseburger or 66% less than a Big Mac. It is about lunchtime here.

Do I believe that Suicide Squad Kill the Justice League is a hidden gem that will be unearthed by this low price? It's not a good live service game. Your number will go up as you kill bad guys. Morgan Park, our own reviewer, who was incredibly generous with it at launch, said this in his review: Suicide Squad's ending is a short but delicious dessert. To get there, you have to play through a story mode which is just not good. It's just one of the many (albeit older) games that are on sale during Steam's Autumnal Bash.

It's also not terrible in any way. If we use Steam reviews as our measuring stick, 67% out of the 6,826 users who wrote something about it were positive. That's 4,573 individuals who didn't hate it. All of this is a bad mark against a $3.50 game, but it's full price? You might as well have fun if you're able to imagine yourself playing this game.

I'm... um, probably going pass. It's mostly because at the moment I have both World of Warcraft (which I also subscribe to) and Final Fantasy 14 active, which comes out to 8.5 Suicide squads per month. I need as much free time and money for cheeseburgers as I can get.
