Without doubt the definitive version of Super Stardust. Some might be disappointed about the fairly limited new additions, but regardless, it's still one of the greatest arcade shooters around.

At the end of the day, Super Stardust Ultra is a more polished edition of the PS3 version, therefore we hardly recommend it if you already played it. If you didn't, though, this is an excellent twin-stick shooter that should not be missed.

A game so twitchy, it may just ruin your controller.

Super Stardust Ultra is a good version of a great PS3 title, an immediate recommendation for the lovers of the genre. While their additions are appreciated, they are not a differential that makes it a must buy for those who already played the game on PS3.

For long time fans of Super Stardust, this is probably a disappointment. There's not much that's new, save for a new mode or two. If you've never played the game before though, this is as complete a package as you'll get.

It's pretty much the original game adapted to the PS4. This is great news if you haven't played it yet, but if you have, then you won't find anything particularly relevant to buy it again.

Returning fans won't get much new worthwhile content, except in the refreshing streaming mode, but if you are new the series this is the kitten kabootle of all things Stardust.

The high-score chasing shooter Super Stardust returns to PlayStation 4 with enhanced visuals, 1080p resolution, and buttery 60 frames per second gameplay. Yummy.

Super Stardust Ultra is a classic which everyone deserves to give a try, but if you’ve played before, proceed with caution.

Super Stardust Ultra is an excellent update of a great twin-stick shooter, and worth the time for both long-term fans and those who somehow missed it the first time around.

Super Stardust Ultra is the ultimate version of Housemarque classic released 8 years ago on PlayStation 3. Tons of contents and addictive gameplay provide hours of fun, too bad the graphics has not been improved enough.

Apart from adding a new game to the short list of PSN exclusives, the game seems better suited to a different audience, unless there are people out there that feel nostalgic for an eight year old game.

The arcade classic was slightly improved here and there but in the end it doesn’t deliver the same experience as its PS3 or Vita siblings.

Still a great twin stick shooter, but Ultra is just a lazy port from the original PS3 game. All that was so convincing of the PS Vita game (Super Stardust Delta) has been lost.

Not as good as Resogun, but a fantastic twin stick shooter anyway. Really addictive.

If you have already played the HD version on PS3, you wont find here enough reasons to buy again. On the other hand, everyone else should know that this arcade shooter is simply addicting, and very well developed.

The best way to enjoy the classic space shooter today, and it’s just as compellingly addictive as ever, but a lack of online functionality holds it back.

Super Stardust Ultra is not a new game, and it is not a re-release, which feels a bit weird. It is great to survive in the midst of meteors and lasers, plus there are many modes to try out. It's a pity that the Arcade Mode is straight from the original, because this means the main game is a bit too familiar.

Super Stardust is absolutely a capable and fun twin-stick shooter, and this iteration ably presents the experience for the new generation of console.

If you're the type of gamer who worked tirelessly in the past for a top Stardust score and can't get enough, this is the smoothest package yet. While I may be slowing down with my love for the franchise in light of recent competition, the light isn't entirely extinguished.
