Even in comparison to some of the previous Hyperdimension games, which seemed quite determined to mix in some serious messaging amoung the silliness, this latest title simply cuts itself free, and the writers clearly relished that freedom. For all that I was left thoroughly entertained throughout.

This entry doesn’t make major waves, but is always enjoyable and a good pickup for longtime fans.

Superdimension Neptune vs. Sega Hard Girls is a match made in gaming heaven. A JRPG with some expanded and fun platforming mechanics throughout, this game improves on the Neptunia series model while sending the player on a lighthearted romp through an alternative Sega universe.

The characters will annoy many but this game has it where it counts. The mission structure keeps you doing “just one more” whilst the ‘Game Settings’ truly feel like rewards. If you’re already a fan of the series then you’re in for a, albeit slightly shorter, treat. Others' mileage will vary depending on their tolerance for the cast.

Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls maintains the status quo of the RPG entries in the series. The lighthearted story is a great contrast to the other serious RPGs on the system, though the lengthy visual novel scenes can grate on your nerves if you aren't already on board with the oddball tale. It's a shame that a large swath of the game is taken wholly from older titles with minimal changes, but the improvements in the combat and skill systems make up for that transgression.

Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls is a charming RPG that combines all of the magic of the anthropomorphic versions from the SEGA consoles and the parody characters from de Hyperdimension Neptunia series. However, that doesn't stop it to feel like another and simple game from the genre. If you had played any of the previous entries from the Nep Nep franchise, you will find it really familiar and maybe without any kind of surprises at all.

Superdimension takes a number of steps forward for the series and a few steps back. Overall I really enjoyed it and it's clear a lot of care went into thinking up new and interesting mechanics but sadly an overuse of old content holds the game back from being outstanding.

This episode is something fans of the series will like. The franchise needs to evolve, but at least it's taking steps in the right direction.

Fans of either series will find plenty to enjoy about Superdimension Neptune. Not only are there a ton of references to scratch that nostalgic itch, but the gameplay is more than satisfactory to help it stand up as its own entry, even if there's a fair amount of recycled content and concepts. Fans of the series probably know exactly what they're getting into here.

This is a worthy entry in the series, giving an enormous dose of the quirk and charm that earned the series its place.

Superdimension Neptune VS SEGA Hard Girls still carries over some of the faults from past games, but it makes meaningful changes that really help improve the formula. It’s a refreshing step forward in a series that seemed to be treading ground. It’s a formidable RPG, and fans of the franchises crossing over should definitely check it out.

A traditional but incisive gameplay and clever narrative devices make it a must buy for any fan of Neptune, as well as a good JRPG for lovers of the genre.

If you're a fan of turn-based strategic battling or just fun RPGs, then Superdimension Neptune VS SEGA Hard Girls is a highly recommended experience. Surprisingly, given the perceived lack of love and support for the Vita in the West, this is actually a great time for RPG fans to own Sony's handheld.

A game that maintain the series quality by retaining some of the classics game mechanics ad mixing them with new features to obtain an interesting new flavor. The character mixture from the “Neptune” series and “Sega Hard Girls” is really funny.

Yes, it is entertaining. But is also hardly more than a fairly short and repetitive time travel trip through Sega's console history.

Overall, Superdimension Neptune vs Sega Hard Girls is yet another solid entry from the Neptunia series, but it could have been one of the higher recommended titles were it not for the new list of annoyances it added alongside its gameplay improvements.

It feels kind of weird to describe a Hyperdimension Neptunia game as being for fans only — since, after all, “being for fans only” often feels like the point of the whole series. In this case, however, it feels even more appropriate than usual, since Superdimension Neptune VS Sega Hard Girls really is just for fans of both Sega Hard Girls and Hyperdimension Neptunia.
