It’s the most innovative shooter I’ve played in years.

Plenty of shooters (and plenty of games) have played with bullet time, stopping time, or some otherworldly manipulation of time, but none have married its passage to movement quite like Superhot. It not only adopts and plays with this idea; it pushes and refines it to its logical extremes by discarding anything that might get in the way.

On every level, SUPERHOT‘s execution flatters an already brilliant core idea, and within the parameters that feel meaningful in this context, the resulting game is essentially perfect.

Every so often a game jam produces something special that is both interesting and commercially viable. A game like Superhot.

I highly recommend checking this out.

If you’re looking for a soulful, artistic shooter Superhot is it.

Playing SUPERHOT is fun even when I constantly fail because I know the game is now cheating in any way and that next time I have a chance to be more stylish, better prepared, smarter and faster to reach a new high score in Endless Mode or deal with another of the challenges.

Quite frankly, I think Superhot is absolutely bloody fantastic, and one of the best examples of how a single idea can be iterated upon to create dozens of clever scenarios.

Even with its very short campaign, the game offers tremendous replay value with various challenges and modifiers. The "time moves when you move" mechanic is polished to perfection resulting in some of the most spectacular scenes in FPS games.

If you’re the type of gamer who is sick of the same games coming out over and over again, then Superhot is a breath of fresh air thanks to its phenomenally executed central mechanic.

A concise central mechanic, framed by a clever, form-twisting premise and outstanding design in art and sound. Other games wish they could be this cool.

Sometimes games just feel right, and Superhot is such a game. It takes something familiar and turns it on its head to create what I expect will become an indie classic.

From its looks to its clever-but-one-note concept, Superhot screamed style over substance the first time I saw it. In its final iteration, though, it perfectly blends style and substance. Its appearance is original, memorable and loud, but its ego never overtakes the bold design principles at the heart of the game.

Whether you dive into its meta narrative or rehearse the executions of eight ballroom guards for the sixteenth time, Superhot invents a tactical, first-person shooter genre to call its own. Please, Superhot team, I need more.

SUPERHOT is a unique and inventive game, very stylish and with interesting narration. The campaign is a bit on the short side, but there's a lot of potential for replayability.

It might look like a shooter, but Superhot's unique game mechanic - Time moves when you move - means the game plays out more like a puzzle. You'll punch, slice, and shoot your way through waves of red shapes and feel awesome while doing it. It's over pretty quick, but once you're done, there's still a whole host of challenge levels to tackle.

Superhot is a highly effective expression of the gamer's neverending desire to perform cool action, but it also manages to perform some nifty narrative tricks as well. A clever, minimalistic, and totally badass indie gaming highlight.

SuperHOT is one of the best FPS 2016 will spawn without a doubt. With its innovative gameplay, it's one of the most addictive games we've played. It only lacks the possibility to rebind keys, too bad for AZERTY keyboards users, but only the french will complain.

Superhot is an absolute joy to play, and it includes some great extra modes, neat story twists, and outstanding art. It's a complete package, and even though it's all over rather quickly, it's worth revisiting again and again.

Don't be fooled by Superhot's simplistic visuals—they mask surprising nuance and act as a metaphor for the game as a whole. It's a short, digestible action-puzzler that hides more depth and grace in two hours than most sprawling triple-A projects can muster over twenty. What a thrill it is for something as highly anticipated as Superhot to not only live up to the hype, but to surpass it.
