"SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle" changed the face of the first-person tactical genre, and the Elite Edition polishes it to a near mirror shine.

Simply put, if you loved SWAT 3, this upgrade is a blessing. And if you resisted SWAT 3 because of its lack of multiplayer, you're out of excuses now.

With the inclusion of a Software Development Kit in the package, the door is also wide open for user modifications and new missions for the game, which should extend SWAT3's life for the foreseeable future. I couldn't recommend your acquisition of this game any more.

Perhaps the best thing about the Elite Edition is that all of these upgrades are completely free to "SWAT 3: Close Quarters Battle" owners.

SWAT3's multiplayer, while nothing groundbreaking, is something special to behold.

A decent expansion pack that goes a long way towards redressing the failings of the original. However, that is not to say that the original should not have been a lot better than it was.

The multiplayer elements may need some fine-tuning and additional features, but the game is still a literal blast to play.

Somehow, Sierra managed to snatch defeat out of the jaws of victory by committing gaffes and other oversights that just boggle the mind.
