Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment transcends its license to become a truly engrossing portable role-playing game. Unfortunately, this lengthy adventure is far from perfect, with problems ranging from bad translation to simplistic missions. But none of that gets in the way of one of the most ambitious anime games ever constructed.

A great combat system alongside an abysmal translation make this one very mileage-may-vary.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is simply huge and filled with content but it is also very repetitive and dazzling for its own good. The abysmal translation does not help either, but if you are a fan of the anime and/or you are willing to take some time through every menu to understand what's going on, you will find there's quite a lot to enjoy.

A great RPG experience with a ton of content, a ton of room to grow your fully customizable character, and many different battle styles and areas to explore - you'll be playing this one for a hundred hours before you get bored... easily. My only real qualms with the title were cosmetic, so despite the fact that the game isn't perfect it's still one I'd whole-heartedly recommend.

This is a big, ambitious game, and like any big, ambitious game, there's some stuff that goes wrong, but a lot more that goes right. And with all that right stuff…well, that's what makes the game so worth playing.

A plausible transition from the popular manganime franchise to a Vita adventure. JRPG fans will appreciate it for sure.

It's not easy to get into, but it does offer a lot of content. If you are looking for a dungeon-based RPG, this is a great choice.

A must-have if you are a fan of this literary and manganime universe, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment has its flaws, and by no means is it perfect, but it is a very competent Japanese Action-RPG with a good battle system. Perfect if you want an excuse just for combat, level up, combat, defeat a Boss and prepare for the next one.

Thanks to its fun to play combat system and the great amount of stuff to do Hollow Fragment is overall a good game, probably not the best RPG on PS Vita, but it’s however fun and engaging, especially if you are a fan of the anime.

What we have here is the first Sword Art Online to arrive to our coasts, and it is a 2x1 including PSP's adventure. A game that fulfills its task, entertaining the player for hours with plenty of main and secondary missions. It will delight those who demand original Japanese dubbing, however, we won't hear it in our language and it arrives only in English.

The combat feels slick, the design mirrors the anime really well and there's enough content to keep you going for weeks. Just know that the experience starts to drag after the exciting opening levels.

An interesting action rpg that mimic an MMO. This PsVita Edition includes two games: the progression can be a little bit repetitious, but there's a lot of content for the light novel fans.

It's very close tonally to the anime and really feels like a natural extension of the show inside and out. Just don't expect a whole lot in terms of gameplay variety.

If you’re a fan of Sword Art Online then this is a must buy, with it’s alternate reality separating it from the series.

Cuts to the core of an action JRPG, the combat, and does an admirable job of making something worthwhile out of it.

A must for fans of the anime and could very well appeal to any Vita player looking for an Eastern styled action RPG. It's not trying to be much more than a “beat the level, the boss, then advance” game but then that's probably what its fans are looking for.

Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is an interesting action-jrpg. Its combat system is both deep and entertaining and grants a good amount of fun, despite the lack of variety. The “romantic” part is quite basic, but the overall experience is still good enough for players who loved the anime.

In short, Sword Art Online: Hollow Fragment is a fun disappointment.

A competent JRPG with some considerable flaws, and one that is best enjoyed by those who are familiar with SAO.
