The graphics may be dated, but it's still an amazing game.

The gameplay still delivers thrilling combat that’s focused less on stealth and much more on action.

The best PlayStation espionage game since "Metal Gear Solid."

Despite a high level of difficulty, the game is proof positive that the original PlayStation still has plenty of life left within.

The story is as good as ever and backed by some of the best sound of any PSone game and a smattering of smooth FMV scenes the atmosphere is bang up there with the best.

It could have been better in a couple of areas, graphics, and sound. However, I did enjoy the game, and loved the way it was presented.

Graphically solid, slickly presented, and sporting a solid selection of mission types in a complex storyline, SF3 is perhaps the last great PSX action title.

Syphon Filter offers some extremely engaging gameplay, helped by the intriguing plot.

I'd say this game ranks pretty high. It's no "Metal Gear Solid 2: Son's of Liberty," but at least it's not "Nuclear Dawn."

The controls are simple enough to master that you shouldn't have to pause the game to look at the manual just to figure out how to pull off a stunt.

A general sense of "same-old, same-old" throughout.

The feeling of tension and suspense the player gets while playing through the first two games is strangely absent here. Whereas before I would hug the walls and creep silently through corridors looking for the enemy, now I find myself calmly standing in the middle of a room nonchalantly picking off baddies.

More of the same thing that made the first game good. Unfortunately, what was great almost three years ago doesn't hold nearly as much water these days.

This is basically the same game as the last two – this series just refuses to evolve.

Everyone in general is pretty stiff, and trying to control our hero while dodging the insane amount of enemies is more chore than thrill.

A medium challenge with an all-too-easy ending.

The graphic engine doesn't seem to have been touched, nor does the gameplay engine.

All bloodthirsty primal tendencies aside, the game remains shallow. The storyline is weak and incoherent.

Syphon Filter 3 is a quality film with B-movie gameplay. The visuals, music, and CG are all top-notch, but the chewy gameplay center gets old after a few bites.
