Excellent though the gameplay and presentation of Talisman Prologue is, the most remarkable thing about the game is how accessible it is to players of all levels of experience.

I thoroughly enjoy Talisman’s overall design and presentation, and encourage fans of board games and role playing games to give it a shot.

If you like fantasy board games with a hefty dose of luck, Talisman Prologue is an able translation of a classic.

While it accurately recreates the mechanics of the boardgame, Talisman Prologue HD's lack of multiplayer options and stringent quest structure make it a little less enjoyable than it should be.

It's pretty, and it will certainly conjure memories, but Talisman: Prologue is only an appetizer - not the main course.

If Talisman is new to you, Prologue can be a good way to see if you want to invest your time and money in the boxed or digital versions of this flawed but enjoyable classic.

These canned side quests are a pretty poor substitute for whatever entertainment you and your friends might normally wring from a real-world copy of Talisman.
