The Light Brigade is a great PlayStation VR2 game. Excellent shooting mechanics and roguelike elements make the game highly replayable, and unlocking new classes is always a thrill. The PS VR2 version does suffer from the occasional frame drop, but overall it's a smooth and well-crafted experience.

The Light Brigade is undoubtedly one of the best exponents of the roguelite genre on PS5, a challenging game that returns a great deal of satisfaction thanks to a credible and satisfying gunplay. The sense of progression and atmosphere do the rest, packing a must-play title for all SONY headset owners.

As well as being one of few ‘new’ games to play on the PSVR2, The Light Brigade is worth celebrating for bringing a convincing and consistently engaging roguelike experience to virtual reality. With its gripping physics-based combat, sticky progression systems and comfy controls, it’s easy to lose hours to this delightful surprise of a game. Funktronic Labs seems to have learned from all of the best flatscreen roguelikes on the market, only to apply its studies in a new dimension, breaking new ground in the process.

The Light Brigade is one of the shining stars of PSVR2's launch. A game that doesn't feel the need to reinvent the wheel, developer Funktronic Labs instead decided to focus on making the best rogue-lite that PSVR has yet seen rather than get crazy with new systems. With unique, varied classes and brilliant gunplay, the title does a great job of ensuring that we want to keep returning to its chilling, bleakly beautiful environments again and again.

The Light Brigade is a brilliant shooter that should pique the interest of every VR enthusiast. It’s pretty long, complex, adequately priced, it boasts a great physics system and weapon mechanics. It’s not exactly beautiful, however, and its prolonged loading times can be annoying.

A solidly constructed VR roguelite that combines guns and magic for some memorable runs, even if its graphics and setting won’t be winning any awards.
