Its replay value is extremely high, and although you’ll unlikely play it for huge stretches of time a couple of rounds with a few friends is incredibly entertaining. It may be on the slightly more expensive side of the PSN content, there are few that offer such a fantastic online experience.

With its vices and virtues, The Punisher No Mercy may be worthy to spend some time in multiplayer matches without much complication. Of course there are many and better alternatives in the same terrain, but it offers some fun for a lesser price.

It's definitely playable, and respectable value at a penny under seven quid.

The Punisher: No Mercy is an aggressively mediocre FPS in my opinion.

It’s just nothing special, that’s all. But if you want some simple, straightforward, fairly well done FPS fun for only ten bucks (and you don’t have to go anywhere to nab it, either), feel free to give it a shot. It’s a surprisingly fast download and you’ll be blowing away baddies before you know it. Just don’t expect too much.

Frank Castle's latest game is not what we hoped it to be. A mere Unreal Tournament clone without soul, despite having such a great franchise in the title. Unoriginal and basic all around, it can be a fun game, but only for short game periods.

At the end of day gaming is all about having fun. If you’re looking for a simple, mindless shooter to spend a few minutes of your time, then No Mercy can fit the bill. But if you’re looking for a game that will keep you coming back for more and more then you should look elsewhere.

While the Punisher will probably always remain one of my favourite comic book anti-heroes I’m afraid that the next time I read one of his comics I may end up hearing that terrible voice in my head. The true punishment here is playing The Punisher: No Mercy.

Fun but short single player, let down by poor online play.

Punisher: No Mercy isnt going to set your world alight, however for a budget title it aint half bad.

PlayStation Universe June 10, 2024
Fans of The Punisher will enjoy the comic panel cut-scenes, but the gritty world created by Marvel is lost in a sea of technical problems and monotony.

Worth Playing June 10, 2024
Sadly, The Punisher: No Mercy is a complete waste of a license for a comic book antihero that does have out there amongst gamers a loyal following.

No Mercy's biggest failing though is its atrocious netcode that makes playing games a nightmare.

GameSpot June 10, 2024
This online first-person shooter is too shallow and buggy to entertain for long.

Gamer Limit June 10, 2024
Mild fan service in a package that looks like Ace Ventura personally delivered to the PSN.

Gamervision June 10, 2024
Zen Studios delivered a game that even hardcore fans of the comic book vigilante would have to be extremely bored to even attempt trying, let alone devote extended periods of time to playing.

When a licenced game fails to excite fans of the franchise on which its content is based, it had better have something in reserve for the swathes of other consumers to latch onto. Unfortunately for The Punisher, it ends up unrecommended in both regards.

This game was about as close to "painful" as I've seen in recent memory.

IGN June 10, 2024
A pretty bad game all around. The somewhat interesting upgrade mechanics don't help overcome the numerous problems: a super-short (and boring) single-player mode, laggy online play, almost complete lack of feedback when hitting someone, bland level designs, and a good deal more.

Its biggest flaw is feeling old hat in an already overcrowded marketplace, and it is unlikely to pull any FPS devotees from their game of choice. No Mercy -- despite being a competent shooter set at a value price -- simply doesn't stand out like its title character.
