Titan Quest: Immortal Throne Critic Reviews

Immortal Throne continues Titan Quest's winning blend of killing, shopping, and strategic decision-making. It's a textbook case of a great expansion.

Just about every aspect of the game has been polished.

Immortal Throne takes an enjoyable game and ratchets up the fun a couple of notches, which is exactly what an expansion game should do.

It has something for everyone, including new players and those who simply want to raise their characters to the new level cap.

With hundreds of great new items, some simple but effective new features, and a dozen hours or more of gameplay (which multiplies with the new difficulty levels), any fan of the game will likely find this to be a worthy addition.

It’s not infinitely replayable, but it’s good for another 15 or 20 hours, which as expansion packs go is, I think, AOK.

If you loved the first then this is a must. As for everyone else who still hasn’t experienced Titan Quest, now is a better time than ever. An excellent expansion to an excellent game.

There is definitely a case that some of the structural improvements and additions should have found inclusion in the original title, but all of them are well thought-out and implemented, adding longevity and replay value to an already deep title.

While Titan Quest is still a pretty shameless clone of the "Diablo II" formula, it's a pretty good one, and this new expansion is one of those smart ones that add new content both for high-level and newer players. It might not feel wholly original, but it's a fine pastiche of comfortable formula fare.

THQ has given us a great game, but it's too bad they haven't taken steps to protect it for those of us who want to play fair.

There are no huge technical leaps or jarring presentational changes, just eight-or-so hours of extra content and some convenient and entertaining additions to the core gameplay.

This is an expansion that reinvigorates the Titan Quest experience and re-affirms the first game's quality.

Immortal Throne’s not going to change the way you look at action/RPGs, but it breathes some new life into one of last year’s better games. For my money, that’s an expansion I can support.

A really classy expansion.

Don't expect any big innovations but if you enjoyed Titan Quest then you will love Immortal Throne.

As an expansion pack it fulfils the role beautifully, bringing in features and elements that were sorely lacking from the original in terms of character management.

Immortal Throne offers some really good high-level content for established Titan Quest fans to dig into, while retroactively adding small but meaninful improvements to the original Titan Quest.

Immortal Throne, which sends you to Hades to interact with numerous heroes and villains from Greek mythology, addresses a number of the most common complaints players had about Titan Quest.

A great addition to the original Titan Quest. The new inventory options and the new mastery skill add a lot of fun and convenience to the core game and the additional Hades act really extends the game nicely for players who have already completed the rest of the campaign.

If you've finished the original and want to keep that mouse finger in shape, this expansion is worth a trip to the land of the dead for.
