The Division is a fantastic single-player game, a wonderful co-op game and fascinating competitive multiplayer game. This game gives you so many ways to play an incredible experience, which it all leads to one conclusion: Tom Clancy’s The Division is a phenomenal game.

There's no getting away from the fact The Division is the best open-world that Ubisoft has ever created, while the gameplay is consistently entertaining and cohesive. The deep RPG elements and tactical gunplay just add to that. Plus, the fact you can get so much enjoyment out of being a solo player, with that experience heightened by buddying up, is quite a feat.

Cooperative play is a joy, an abundance of gear means your agent is ever-evolving, and an air-tight narrative set within a game world that is unmistakably Tom-Clancian provides a sense of purpose and urgency that makes it nigh impossible to put the controller down.

Beyond the downgrade you have a game with a lot of potential, possibilities, hundreds of hours to be spent, and a city that is a joy to discover. Alone or with good company, The Division is without a doubt a safe bet.

With all of the content packed in at launch, the solid gameplay mechanics, tactical co-op experience, and gorgeous open world, it was more than a great idea for Ubisoft to delay Tom Clancy’s Division as long as they did. Everything about this game was far more than I could have expected, and it’s definitely worth the wait.

Tense and thrilling sums up much of my time playing The Division. From its brilliant missions through exploring its amazing environment to tackling its many side missions and encounters, working my way through this game has been a truly enjoyable experience. Sure, the action can be accused of being repetitive, but for me – a hardcore shooter fan – I couldn't get enough of it.

Ubisoft Massive has in Tom Clancy's The Division the best game the French company has made so far for this generation, and demonstrates that consoles are also a great place for MMOs. The downgrade is soon forgotten once you stop and delight yourself with such an imposing, beautiful and at the same time, chaotic New York. When all of the gameplay mechanics roll out, you are already trapped and you won't stop until you've completed every single challenge.

Taken out of the context of a tumultuous build-up and away from the weight of expectation, this game is a sheer triumph. It takes a simple third-person shooter and packs impressive RPG and multiplayer elements into the mix, with the end result being simply fantastic. Miss this game at your own peril.

Ubisoft Massive provides a very polished experience that fits for single, co-op and multiplayer gamers. RPG's mechanics work like a charm and the shooter is very solid. Level design could be a little better, but Tom Clancy's The Division is an outstanding new entry for the market.

Post-pandemic New York City is a terrifying vision, but it's not one that you’ll likely want to leave for some time.

They say that New York City never sleeps, and those who play Tom Clancy's The Division may understand the feeling.

New franchises are always risky business, but Tom Clancy’s The Division delivered on everything it promised and more, with only the occasional hiccup.

There is so much more that this game gets right than wrong. To call Tom Clancy's The Division 'just a shooter' is doing it quite a disservice. It has some elements of the genre, but it comes away more akin to an RPG when things are said and done, similar to how Mass Effect successfully blended genres and came out stronger than the individual sum of its parts. It lacks the amount of narrative control over the story that Mass Effect provides, but in most other respects The Division accomplishes the things it sets out to do. It might not be the textbook definition of fun, but the bleak world is interesting, the combat is engaging and I found progression rewarding.

The Division is a fun and challenging game, whether you're playing it alone or with some friends, but it requires a certain degree of commitment to be truly appreciated. The gameplay is complex, deep and incredibly rewarding, although some things need to be fixed (i.e., the flawed respawn system). And the infected New York created by Ubisoft is simply wonderful to behold and explore.

Tom Clancy’s The Division is almost everything that was advertised in 2013. While the visuals have certainly been pulled back a bit, probably because of hardware limitations, the gameplay has been delivered as promised.

Intelligent mechanics, intense gameplay, well thought-out mission structure and plotlines are all winners in our book. Bring on the endgame antics!

The mix of online shooter and RPG works almost perfectly and it's all wrapped up in a really nice package.

Surprising, compelling and built to last, Ubisoft clearly has a new tentpole on its hands. You could wait for the sequel, but don't do that - The Division is great.
