The sickest shooter this side of Xbox killer app "Halo."

There are so many impressive features that the artificial intelligence, in its best moments, rivals and occasionally surpasses even that of Bungie’s epic shooter "Halo."

It's been too long since I've played an FPS that contains this much engaging challenge and fierce energy.

Light on story, heavy on action and gore, Turok Evolution will appeal to fans of the series, but lags a bit behind the design philosophy for most newer shooters.

There are plenty of great moments, but the complete package falls a bit short.

Though the FPS levels are solid in design, the game’s mediocre flying levels constantly get in the way of what is good about the game.

The game's smooth turnover from third-person shooting to almost flight simulation makes gameplay quick and exciting.

One great looking game on the Xbox as opposed to the PS2 version. The jungles of the Lost Land will have you admiring the scenery the minute you step out into your first mission.

TE copies the formulaic FPS foundation so much so that gamers will get nothing in the whole package they haven’t seen done better in other games.

With "Halo" and a host of other games that take advantage of the Xbox hardware available, purchasing is not advised.

There are just too many moments where the AI decides to stop being great, where the game itself gets too hard or too easy, that it can't be highly recommended.

It's a big old adventure which provides hours of escapist blasting. It's packed to the horns with beautifully realised creatures and it's good fun, too. Just don't expect the next "Halo."

Clumsy computer A.I. and awful multiplayer games nick this game to only a single-player and a nice rental adventure.

It's a decent first person shooter with many multiplayer options, lots of gore and several flaws. None of those flaws make the game unplayable, they just keep it from standing head and shoulders above other, similar games.

The story is awful and not very engaging, and please don’t get me started on character dialogue.

Although it is mindless fun in short bursts, its problems, such as rare restart points, dodgy graphics and the flying stages really overwhelm the good stuff -- weapon selection, general violence and mayhem -- and leaves the overall package as somewhat disappointing.

Seems intent on trying to incorporate all the cool stuff in other, better shooters. The problem is that it doesn't do it very well.
