Pick your favourite team, control your favourite player and lead the whole nation to success. It does not get any more exciting than this!

For those of you with FIFA 08, this is well worth a look simply because of the refreshing new modes and roster of teams/players available.

Playing the game is fun defined. While Pro Evolution has managed to slowly botch its own previously stellar system with each release, EA’s FIFA has been making steady progress over the last few years, culminating in this climax.

Representing this summer's European tourney, UEFA impresses in many ways: shimmering presentation, engaging game modes, and tweaks to problems that hurt "FIFA 08".

UEFA EURO 2008 is a nice entry to the series. While the gameplay isn't quite a groundbreaking departure from the formula they created in FIFA 08, it’s still a cleaner experience and a lot of fun for soccer fans.

If you want a preview of what’s coming in FIFA 09, UEFA Euro 2008 is as close as you can get. It is one of the best soccer games to date, but it’s so limited that its shelf life is almost zero.

It will tie you over nicely until the highly anticipated FIFA 09 hits store shelves. When I described it as a mixed bag my reasons were such; good graphics, excellent sound, lack of real depth, superb game play but lacklustre online options.

So, yes, the future does indeed looks bright for FIFA 09, but with UEFA EURO 2008 currently on the shelves, the future also happens to be right now.

It’s the confirmation of everything that was great on FIFA 08 for the PS3 and Xbox 360. The gameplay is side-by-side with everything that Pro Evolution Soccer has delivered over the years and it’s better than any FIFA to date. And with its shiny presentation and online and offline modes, it’s a must have for every soccer fan out there.

This solid football game offers hours of enjoyment, both via single and multiplayer, and has enough improvements to keep FIFA ’08 fans happy. However, the limited number of teams and the pure European focus may put off some of the more casual players.

A lot more than just a official game of Euro 2008, although the authentic atmosphere is obviously one of the key elements. Players move smoother than before and the gameplay is a bit tighter than in FIFA 08. However, the AI is a boring opponent. Captain your country -mode is a great addition.

The player likenesses are fantastic and the overall presentation is wonderful.

Most soccer nuts awaiting this summer's Euro-only tourney in Switzerland and Austria will buy this one anyway, but for those on the fence, I recommend giving this one a shot. Particularly at the slightly reduced $49.99 price tag.

Without doubt, UEFA Euro 2008 is the pinnacle of Football games.

Those searching for a great tune up to this fall's FIFA 2009 should look no further than the impressive package of UEFA Euro 2008.

See this game as version 1.1 of FIFA 08, but focused on the UEFA European Championship, and as a nice taste of things to come in the next edition of FIFA.

With the added bonus of Captain Your Country, and a host of welcome tweaks and additions, it's a Russian linesman away from being given 9/10, and only the inevitable absence of club teams and other FIFA-level content get in the way.

EURO 2008 is undoubtedly a step forward for the FIFA series, bringing it tantalizingly close to dethroning the once all conquering "PES."

Okay, so it’s basically just a streamlined version of FIFA 08 with new trimmings but look beyond this and there’s a world of ball-kicking goodness to be enjoyed. Its decidedly stunted nature makes it a far more appealing choice for the multiplayer gamer but even so, it’s still one of the better footy games of this generation.
