The nice thing about the look and attitude of Vexx is that he has a dark side.

Anybody who loves platforming will like this game. But I’ll warn you that the platforming is a difficult challenge at times, and the final boss is one of the hardest I've met since maybe Jet Force Gemini.

A game that I would certainly recommend to friends purely for the level design, fun (if somewhat repetitive) combat, humor, subtle sound effects, and sheer size.

Unexpectedly creative.

Crafted by hard-core gamers - its strong point in terms of sheer satisfaction - and it shows.

Vexx is a curiously grim exercise featuring gargantuan free-form levels fraught with danger and a surprisingly combat-heavy fighting system of combos, uppercuts, and vicious slashes.

Vexx gets a lot of things right as a platformer, but all of the good parts are completely negated by a lousy camera system. It’s too bad because Vexx could have been special.

Aside from the camera, the conventions have been nailed, unfortunately, most gamers want a bit more than that.

Vexx could’ve been worlds better if not for its nauseatingly inconsistent camera system.

Each stylish set piece is matched by two or three (or ten) ignoble deaths from cheap bosses or bottomless pits.

My primary complaint against Vexx is that the camera system feels unrefined. It works well enough to play the game, but it's very rough.

I question people paying $50 for a game when they might get the feeling of "been here, done that". Vexx's biggest problem is the camera, but you can overcome it as long as you have patience.

It's a solid platformer. It's just not a particularly original or polished one.

Nothing more than your run-of-the-mill platformer. Though the level design and beautiful visuals are something to admire, the audio, plot and general lack of originality leaves something to be desired.

So enjoy this game for what it is, a fun jumping game that can keep you amused for several hours if your willing to spend time trying to collect all the bonuses and complete the mini-games that Acclaim has arranged for you.

In such a saturated genre perfection is necessary but Vexx only comes off as average.

While Vexx builds adequately on the 3-D trail blazed by "Super Mario 64," there are others who have taken the next few steps.

The camera control works great and the play-control scheme is well-designed.

Vexx does little more than imitate, which just isn't enough these days... Feels outdated right out of the gate.

An underwhelming, choppy mess.
