I can't get over the look of the game. Even the feel and sounds of the players grunting, and the racket hitting the ball is just so realistic.

Gather your friends around and get over yourselves; you are about to have fun playing tennis.

Although almost ridiculously simple, "Virtua Tennis" is more addictive than chocolate-coated, sugar-frosted crack.

It's fun, whether you're playing solo and trying to complete the Crazy Box-type mini games or going head-to-head in the four-player mode, and it will instantly become a party classic.

The only downsides are that there are no female players (come on Sega!) and in Exhibition mode you can only set up one set matches - there are no full-on grand slams.

Sega's latest NAOMI-to-Dreamcast conversion excels in nearly all accounts, providing crisp visuals, strong gameplay and plenty of replay value--it's an ace all the way, and a game one would be foolhardy to pass up.

Fortunately, once the graphics have convinced you to pick up the gamepad and try it out, the controls in "Virtua Tennis" will keep you hooked for a long, long time.

Whether you like tennis or not, this game is a visual masterpiece that is a definite must have for any Dreamcast owner's ever-growing library of games.

I don't know if Keanu Reeves is a gamer, but if he is, he would probably say, "Whoa, these are some most excellent graphics...dude!"

It could have been a little better had there been a create-a-player mode, but the originality of the different modes of play and the great detail make this one a keeper.

Cons: No Anna Kournikova. :(

One of the best single or multi player Dreamcast games out there, and yet another must have title.

It's as simple as it gets yet still manages to be, in my opinion, the best sports game on the Dreamcast.

Graphically stunning, packed with features and playability out of the very top drawer.

A decidedly arcade-type title, "Virtua Tennis" doesn't sport full tournaments or rankings but offers fairly long matches, several difficulty settings, basic but effective controls, and excellent sound and visuals.

A thoroughly entertaining and addictive tennis title that also doubles as a poster child for high-res Dreamcast graphics.

"Virtua Tennis" is what "WSB2K1" (baseball) and "Virtua Striker 2" (soccer) should have been (but weren't), and comes highly recommended by this former tennis hater that is all psyched about next week's U.S. Open tournament.

A phenomenal game. The controls are easy to learn but offer enough depth to satisfy the most hard-core sports gamer. Graphically, the game is stunning.

No matter how much you tweak it, no matter how realistic you make it, tennis eventually boils down to a game of "Pong."

It's also a wonder that the programmers retained the motion blur for this perspective, as it seriously screws around with your ability to judge where the ball is going.
