Everything from the wake generation to the boat and boarder physics is flawless and you won't find a more original or fun game than Wakeboarding Unleashed.

The title's most remarkable feature is the towrope's physics. Whether you're taking in slack or using it to slingshot around massive lakes, the rope feels absolutely real and must be played to be believed.

What pushes the gameplay over the top is how at any time you can let go of the rope, pull off some wild tricks and call the rope back.

The most imaginative and engaging action-sports title in quite some time... It's an adrenaline-charged blast that shouldn't be missed.

The fun and quality of the single player experience would be enough, but the co-op mode just screams "Activision loves you." With the long, deep career mode, the multiplayer contests, and the cool co-op mode, Wakeboarding Unleashed is a very good value.

Slightly innovative and very addictive, Wakeboarding Unleashed seriously scratches our extreme sport itch and brings us a game filled to the brim with unique challenges and perfect controls.

Co-op is the most entertaining multiplayer mode I've played in a long time.

Not quite Tony Hawk and not quite completely innovative, Wakeboarding Unleashed is an original take on the extreme sports genre that, despite breaking new ground in the field of wakeboarding, manages to get it right the first time.

This is one of my favorite extreme sports games, despite some of the standard features missing from the game. It's challenging, it's incredibly long, and the gameplay is distinctly wakeboarding.

When you get the groove, it's really quite exhilarating.

This is all about gameplay, and the open-ended structure is a welcome respite from the usual - the controls are responsive, the challenges perfectly pitched, and the various multiplayer games provide plenty of depth and longevity.

Thanks to fine scrape-and-splash sound work, subtle controller feedback, accurate impact response, and smart visual rendering, the water and various hard surfaces—whether you encounter them in the flooded city of Springfield or a junk-boat-strewn Hong Kong—"feel" just as they should.

It looks good, it sounds good and it features enough action to keep the most demanding of adrenaline junkies happy.

Wakeboarding Unleashed may have a few rough edges, but it is a franchise that is destined for greatness. Incredibly playable and lots of fun.

Just like all the previous Activision O2 titles (even before they were called such) I find that I can’t put Wakeboarding Unleashed down.

Visually, the Xbox version smokes its PS2 counterpart, but it won’t blow your doors off.

Perseverance will pay off, but mastering this game can be frustrating.

Lesser games in the extreme sports genre have a tendency to wade in a shallow pool of standard cliches, but Wakeboarding Unleashed keeps the focus squarely on the gameplay, where it should be.

Interesting rope dynamics, solid control and creative levels make up for the redundant goals and challenges, leading to a worthwhile dip in the water.

May not bring much new to the table for the genre, but the new additions offer enough of a twist to keep the game interesting.
