Wallace & Gromit in Project Zoo Critic Reviews

It's fun to play but more importantly captures the Wallace & Gromit spirit perfectly.

A derivative, but amazingly amusing, platform romp. And if you already love the license, then this 'ere's a blinkin' masterpiece.

The game itself is good, but not stellar. It looks most like a late-era PSone game, but has a fairly solid camera, great dialogue, imaginative level design, and a definite emphasis on platforming rather than fighting action.

With a fun plot and clever script, this is certainly an entertaining title. But for fans looking for thrills, or blood-pounding adventure, this game is not it.

A small problem that shows itself from time to time is that Gromit is a touch slow and clumsy when executing moves; this is due to the fact one animation must be completed before allowing our hero to initiate the next.

When the action speeds up - in some painfully confusing boss battles - the imprecise controls and weak camera direction nearly kill it.

It might be a little slow to start, it does have its odd quirks, and it isn’t perfect – but it really is a very good game and it is being ignored because people either assume it is bad or they don’t know anything about the franchise.

Frontier has done an excellent job of creating a platformer that's authentic and true to the world of Wallace and Gromit, but it's done a rather shoddy job at creating a good platformer.

The models and animation capture the look of the short films, yet look rough around the edges; the camera is decent, but fights you when it really matters; and the music is quite good but strangely out of place.

A game that could prove entertaining for fans of Nick Park's peculiar pair, but, as a 3D platformer, it's simply not that impressive.

Just doesn’t bring anything new to the platform table.

Unlike most licensed games, Project Zoo doesn't suck, but alas, it's just an unremarkable game.

Simply a solid, family game that brings yet another TV show to the shiny black box. If you’re a fan then this game is definitely worth adding to your video collection.

The duo appears on a next-gen console, fully rendered in digital animation - and looking somewhat the worst for it. Mix in some average platform gameplay elements and you have a disappointing game.

The worst problem is that certain jumps are damn nigh impossible - it's not even a question of skill.
