War World: Tactical Combat Critic Reviews

Overall War World is a reasonably fun, good looking XBLA title. The biggest problem is mech balance, which hopefully can be fixed in a later patch.

You’ll certainly enjoy the explosive chaos of these Unreal Tournament–style battles; but with only four game modes and limited match options, even blowing your opponents to smithereens can get boring.

War World is a game that almost everyone should pass on. If you are a fan of mech games, options like MechAssault or Chromehounds are a smarter choice than War World.

If you expect to open up your mech (or in this case, War World) to see this decked-out, snazzy, cool game, you are going to be extremely disappointed.

War World has no personality, making it tough to get hooked on the average gameplay.

There's very little overall polish to the title, and there's nothing particularly inspired or compelling about it, either.

If you're a fan of online multiplayer slaughter, then it's a safe bet that you've already got plenty of games that do the same thing as War World, and do it a lot better.

This is only the type of game worth playing if you have plenty of friends who also own it. For single player gamers it is a bust and for random pick up multiplayer matches they are not that well done. Pass on it.

War World is an uninspired mech combat game that isn't worth your time.

Sadly, War World holds your attention about as long as a paperclip and a Post-It note.

It felt incomplete—or, worse, insubstantial, like a test project not fully fleshed out into a compelling game.

It still ends up as one of the prettier 3D offerings on Xbox Live Arcade, despite some framerate annoyances. It's too bad that everything else about the game -- from the mechs and environments to the play modes -- seems so generic and quickly cobbled together.

Speedy shooter much in common with cack like "Outrigger." Get your mech fix elsewhere.
