The Lotus Eaters update will be released on August 21, bringing the wildest expansion to Warframe yet.
Warframe: 1999 looks nuts. A lot of weird stuff will be coming up, including prototype warframes, dating, and boy bands. Digital Extremes has already begun preparing for the winter of 2024 with their next update, The Lotus Eaters. It will be released on August 21.
You can expect a new quest on Deimos, though it will be short. The Lotus wants you to investigate "a familiar but strange sound". It could be one of the hit songs from the iconic boy band On-lyne in 1999, which was first introduced at the last TennoCon.
It's all about the past, of course, and getting players ready for a journey back in time, where we'll have the chance to live life in a way that was only possible just before the turn to the millennium, with motorbikes, pops, floppy hairstyles, and chatting with your crush via IM. It sounds a lot like my experience in '99, minus the bike and the fighting monsters.
Sevagoth Prime will also be making his debut. You can collect his blueprints or, if that's too much effort, you can buy the Prime warframe from the Warframe Marketplace. Sevagoth Prime Access bundle will include the warframe and some Prime weapons. It will also include the Nautilus Prime Sentinel. There are more cosmetics too, such as a headpiece, glyph and mask, as well as wings, tails and tail attachments for the sentinels.
After a long break, the announcement of Warframe 1999 brought me back, and I'm simultaneously lost and delighted. It's a ridiculous, confusing game with incredible fights. After so many failed attempts to find the frame that I truly love, I think I am in love with my Nidus Prime Warframe. Look at this cool edgelord.
