Darktide already includes a hard mode but will add 40 additional hard, randomly generated difficulty levels.

It seems that the hardcore Warhammer 40,000 Darktide fans will get what they want in the near future, as a variable-modifier mode of difficulty harder than the current highest level is coming. Fatshark announced Havoc, a system that increases the difficulty level for players who have already reached their maximum. To be clear, I'm not complaining, I just think it's funny that a year after it got the always-hardest-modifiers Auric Mode the players of Darktide are like "yeah, we've had one hardest, but what about even hardester?"

"We have heard from players for a long time that they want Darktide to offer more challenges. Players want to challenge themselves and improve. Fatshark said in an announcement that you want to face the horrors the tide. Havoc is for players who enjoy overcoming obstacles, and want to test and improve their abilities.

Players with the highest Trust Level (30) will be able access Havoc, and complete 40 levels of increasing Order Levels. Each new order level will increase in difficulty, with modifers and mutants that are more negative. Four new mutators have been added to the mix.

Havoc will update each week based on a fluid rating system, with new missions, difficulties, and mutator combinations for players to try. They will stay at the rank they previously achieved. However, you can drop in rank if you fail your current challenge 3 times.

Havoc will fit in nicely with Darktide's cooperative gameplay, as that is the core of the game.

"Players are never alone on their journey. Havoc encourages players to invite friends to help them progress through the Havoc ranks together. Players can choose their friends' Havoc Orders to challenge in a team using the Party Finder. The only requirement is that you must be at least 30 levels. It doesn't matter whether one player is Havoc rank 1 and the other 20. "They can all play together," Fatshark says.

The next week, all players who beat a high ranking together will be promoted to the highest rank.

You can find a full overview of Havoc Mode at Steam, where you can also find Warhammer 40,000 Darktide.
