Warhammer fans and fantasy fans in general will find a whole lot to like with Warhammer Quest.

Based on the Hunters-engine Warhammer Quest takes Rodeo Games’ futuristic turn-based strategy adventure to the classic Games Workshop fantasy universe. Amazing design, perfect use of touch and gorgeous details makes this an incredible game. The only let down is the way missions are randomly generated, which is some cases instills a sense of Déjà vu. A near perfect conversion of the classic board game and a solid strategy title on its own. Play it on hardcore with permadeath and you can wave goodbye to your sanity.

Rodeo Games has supplied iOS gamers with yet another excellent strategy RPG. Possibly their best yet.

Warhammer Quest, while being an excellent port of a classic board game, is actually an amazing dungeon crawler on iOS, no matter what your experience with the source material. You owe it to yourself to check out this excellent hack and slash experience.

Any dungeon-crawling fantasy fan will get more than enough from their $4.99 to justify picking up Warhammer Quest, and they'll likely find themselves happy to invest more to extend that experience.

Similar in style to Rodeo’s previously-released Hunters series, Warhammer Quest offers outstanding visuals, challenging battles, and deep strategic gameplay.

The bottom line here is that you're just not going to find many top-down dungeon crawlers better than this one. Warhammer Quest is an outstanding example of the genre, and proof that you don't always need a new trick to impress the crowd if you can perform your old trick really, really well.

Warhammer Quest is a good looking and accurate conversion of the board game, which works well in small doses. On longer sessions copy-paste environments sand monsters start to bore.

A fun, fast-paced dungeon-crawler that does its inspiration justice, Warhammer Quest isn't perfect, but it's a damn good start.

Warhammer Quest ($4.99, Universal) is such a deluxe experience with so much to go through making it a worthwhile addition to the iOS platform, as well as your personal catalog.

The tactical combat and dungeon exploration steal the show, and control fantastically on the touch screen, making Warhammer Quest an easy recommendation for fans of the classic board game and newcomers alike.

A faithful and enjoyable translation of the beloved tabletop game. Though the mutliplayer mode may be absent, the spirit of Warhammer Quest is alive and kicking.

Warhammer Quest delivers a solid strategy experience, packed with several RPG elements, a lot of quests to complete, items to find and enemies to fight.

Whether you're a seasoned Warhammer vet with figure-paint on your fingernails, or just taking your first steps into classic turn-based fantasy, you won't be disappointed. Besides, it's always a pleasure to slay a bunch of creeps for a brand-spanking new +6 axe.

Warhammer Quest for iPad is really fun, and only partially ruined by the expensive DLCs and the repetitive dungeon design.

Put simply, this is an excellent mobile translation of a tabletop experience – but random design elements in the source material hold it back.

Samey arenas and a dull narrative means that this doesn't quite hit the nail on the head.

Warhammer Quest is beholden to the classics. Though it takes too long to show its best qualities, it satisfies the strategy RPG itch beautifully when it finally does. The loot and party-building shine bright enough to forgive a few of the darker spots.

It's difficult to know whether to recommend it or not. The core mechanics of the game are all there, and they are fantastic — good enough that if I didn't have to grind the same darn dungeons over and over again just to get enough gold to use my experience points, this would be Editor's Choice stuff. But the design decision to cater to In-App Purchases simply has to be taken into account, and it hurts this game — hurts it badly, in my opinion.

“Serviceable” is the word when it comes to Warhammer Quest. Its job is to be a turn-based dungeon crawler, and that it is. What it doesn’t do, however, is find a way to light that fire in a player’s belly, the hunger for loot and the thirst for the blood of the unrighteous.
