The second expansion to Witcher 3 - Blood and Wine, is a multi-hour adventure that expertly mixes all the things we know and love with very interesting novelties. The new land is breathtaking, the story and characters are enchanting and the interface finally is almost perfect. Every story needs an ending and this one is one of the most satisfying ever.

Blood and Wine is the sum of its very well-executed parts, taking the best of The Witcher 3 and putting it brightly on display. CDPR has done an amazing job of creating something that builds so strongly on the foundation laid out last year, to the point that it feels grand and completely new. At one point, as I reached 20 hours of play, I didn’t even feel close to finished.

A living, breathing, Cezanne that will not hesitate to cover itself in blood, wink bitterly at you as it runs deeper down the rabbit hole and whose propensity to stun, mesmerize and redefine everything you thought you knew about the concept of “expansion packs”, will have a lasting impact upon the video game industry. Unforgettable.

Blood and Wine is not the epic "save the world" adventure prior Witcher titles were, but that's okay. It's a fond farewell to Geralt of Rivea, ensuring your last adventure with The Witcher leaves a smile on your face.

Blood and Wine is an expansion that’s more generous with its content than some full priced games, and the fact that CD Projekt Red has maintained such a consistent level of quality across both of its expansions is really remarkable.

This is a real treasure and a tribute to all-things Witcher, perfectly captured in the final moment before the credits roll: a close-up of Geralt, who turns to look directly at the player through the screen with a subtle grin, as if giving thanks for the chance to tell one last Witcher story.

Game Debate June 26, 2016
It really is incredible what CDPR has achieved here, and I wouldn’t be totally averse to playing something of this size and quality each and every year. This is without doubt the greatest piece of DLC I have ever played, and I think plenty of other developers and publishers should rightly be embarrassed by their efforts after seeing this. Expansion of the year? Almost surely. Game of the year? A real possibility.

Excellent DLC and a dignified farewell to the amazing saga, which fixes certain errors of the great game and adds a new location with completely different mood.

The Witcher 3 is a game I judge with my heart, not with my brain. And my heart says Blood and Wine deserves the highest rating.

The Witcher 3 Blood and Wine is everything you hoped it would be. Toussaint is beautiful, there is so much to do and the new features make sure you want to start up The Witcher 3 again. An essential purchase for anyone who loves The Witcher 3.

CD Projekt Red has raised the bar on what it takes to make a high quality story driven RPG. They did not fail to deliver on Geralt’s final tale either. If this is our last hurrah with the White Wolf it was time well spent.

Geralt says goodbye with a bittersweet smile in his face by a fire. Wine, blood and death surround him and will be there always. Blood & Wine closes the saga in a very crepuscular way.

We were expecting nothing less, considering how good the previous DLC was, but Blood & Wine is really wonderful in every sense. The game world is huge and rich, and Geralt is more powerful than ever, with new items and talents. Another excellent work from CD Projekt.

When we finished Hearts of Stone, we did it holding goodbye tears. With Blood and Wine, however, we do it with joy, because CD Projekt has delivered over thirty hours of new stories and unforgettable characters. Don’t take too long to come back.

Taken as a whole, Blood and Wine is nothing short of a triumph – a stunning conclusion to one of the best RPG series ever made.

An exquisite conclusion to a legendary saga, Blood and Wine concludes in a high note the notable efforts of CD Projekt RED and brings some of Sapkowski's most endearing characters to life.

It is gratifying that The Witcher 3 holds the quality bar at the highest level to the final credits of his last add-on.
