Like an insane stunt pilot in the Red Bull Air Race, World of Warplanes manages to leave an excellent impression. But Wargaming has to keep proving themselves in the future if they want us to remain impressed. It's easy to find great satisfaction, however, when you roam the game's skies with Ride of the Valkyries on the background, while you're bringing death and destruction in your own personal aircraft.

Wargaming takes off and moves war's focus behind the clouds, without making any mistakes in the process. World of Warplanes is a great game: it stands tall and can sit beside its bigger brother, World of Tanks, with pride and honor. It can be difficult sometimes, but it's always rewarding.

World of Warplanes provides good aerial shooting fun, but its future lies in the future support that Wargaming will provide it with.

Despite some minor issues, the great World of Tanks structure is replicated very well in World of Warplanes, which proves to be fun and effective. World of Warplanes has just left the safety of his hangar, but the conditions for a long and successful flight are all already on board.

Wargaming learned perfectly from World of Tanks how to manage a free to Play game and World of Warplanes simply expands the base concepts of the previous game.

Halfway through simulation and accessibility, World of Warplanes indeed finds a sweet spot, although, in the long term, what will make or break this game is support from the devs.

World of Warplanes is easy to learn but hard to master. It offers an easily accessible way to join in online dogfights, but survival is a matter of skill, practice, and experience. In its current state, it is very playable and provides a strong foundation for future development but may not have a lot of staying power due to limited strategic depth.

From beautiful airplane models and solid sound work, to a very accessible flight model that works for any skill level, World of Warplanes is a worthy successor for Wargaming’s stable of titles. It does need a bit more time in the hangar, but you can’t beat the price of entry.

The good impressions from the beta prove true: World of Warplanes celebrates arcade dogfights full of intensive arcade action. With a little more depth and a more detailed damage system this could be a sure hit.

If you've got some friends to battle with this games holds many hours of fun. With better controls and more variety in its contents the experience would have been better, but still it delivers its promise of intense and fast action.

With its appealing graphics, stable servers, huge aircraft inventory, and no-cost entry fee, World of Warplanes is full of opportunities for dogfighting rookies and veterans alike to enjoy the thrill of the aerial kill.

Enjoyable arcade shooter in the sky, free to play and free from annoyances like flutter and engine torque.

World of Warplanes is finally here. A direct arcade that delivers good moments dogfighting among the clouds. A free to play that is not too deep but constantly evolving.

Despite the flaws and the unused potential, the game is still a lot of fun as a casual game. But as a dogfighting game doesn't offer enough realism or a big enough plane selection.

World of Warplanes is a very nice arcade flyer. It steers nicely, shoots nicely and dogfights are also, well, nice. Every awful pilot can play tens of heroic and enjoyable games. Unfortunately the game plays it very safe and doesn´t do anything that hasn´t been done before because of that.

In the end, is World of Warplanes worth your time and possibly your hard-earned cash? I think it is as it is fun and something different than the multitude of FPS’s out in the market today, and certainly anyone who is an aircraft enthusiast should check it out.

With lovely graphics and great matchmaking stability, World of Warplanes remains entertaining even as its simplicity wears thin.

Give it a year or two and this will be a high flyer. For now it's more Goose than Maverick.

Game Revolution November 26, 2013
Unfortunately, at the time of this writing, World of Warplanes is lacking the features to keep players coming back for more. With only one game mode, early adopters of the game will have to wait for a little while until Wargaming begins supporting it with more content. That said, it’s an inevitability that this will happen, and at its core WoWP is a very fun, addictive game, that is destined to carve itself out an ardent fanbase.
