Despite the short campaign Worms Revolution is a must have game for all wargame fans.

The extra strategy is something we never thought we'd need, but now that we have it, we love it!

There is enough new content and features to make it stand up as a game on its own. It is a pleasure to play, and addictive too, although playing for too long at a time can lead to levels of epic frustration.

On the whole, Worms Revolution proves that there's life in the old worm yet, its enhancements giving the franchise a fresh set of… uh… legs? The revolution will not be televised, unless you've got Worms.

Revolution is good fun, and is as addictive as all of its predecessors. It's just a shame that this seems a little on the stingy side regarding the release themes. That aside, this is great addition to the Worms series, which is still one of the best set of games out there for customisation and design. Revolution is perfect for getting together with some friends, and just having a good laugh.

Worms Revolution's name may be a misnomer, as the latest iteration doesn't stray much from past games. That isn't to say that nothing has changed through. The addition of classes and renewed role of water as a tactical tool bring some much-needed variety, adding new layers of depth to the franchise's strategic topsoil.

Worms Revolution is more Worms, but it's more Worms with a few quirky twists. Though the water looks like jelly, it adds some never-before-possible mechanics into the world of Worms that make you ponder your plan of attack more thoughtfully.

With better gameplay, better user interface and an overall revamp, Worms is still one of the best multiplayer experiences out there.

Needless to say, Worms Revolution is a great game. From users who have enjoyed the game series since its launch back in 1995 to the completely new users, you will no doubt enjoy this game. The multiplayer alone brings in a ton of content that will result in a new and crazy battle each and every game.

While I always swore by Worms Armageddon, Worms Revolution, while it may be an iteration, feels like a whole new game and the best game in the franchise.

Scrambling for some mysterious, hilarious weapon harbored in a crate, landing an impossible shot, or carving out the land for an assault continues to be what makes Worms' game of destructible chess worthwhile. It's easy to write off the single-player campaign, but the heart and soul of the multiplayer stays the sure and steady path. It may not be advertised revolution, but this long going war is one worthy of enlisting in.

Worms Revolution may not be a single player game, it may not be the best looking downloadable game on Xbox 360 or PS3, But the downright fun that can be had playing multiplayer more than makes up for any short comings in those departments. Plain and simple, if you are a Worms fan you will enjoy Worms Revolution.

Worms Revolution isn't going to alter the gaming landscape anytime soon, but that doesn't stop it from being a good time. Its combat is as solid as ever, the addition of new classes and environmental effects work just fine, and it's still a blast to play with a pal or two.

Worms Revolution isn't a bad game, but it's not the best Worms experience on the Xbox Live Arcade. There are a few good ideas, along with some funky physics and water that acts a lot more like The Blob. You may still get some fun out of the multiplayer mode, but Worms fans are better off sticking with Armageddon!

It's largely the same entertaining experience that Team17 has been iterating for years now, and there's nothing wrong with that.

None of these issues ruin the tried-and-true fun of four-way deathmatch, but after so many years, we expected more refinement.

All in all, Worms: Revolution just doesn't have the polish to make it an improvement over previous games. Among these is the virtuous Worms 2: Armageddon, which looks prettier, plays more quickly, and has a far more concise HUD. It's also available on most of the same platforms and boasts a better single-player experience. Worms: Revolution just falls short of that comparison.

It's the same zany Worms strategy gameplay with a few new twists, though not all of the additions improve the experience.

Team 17's bloodthirsty invertebrate are once again on the warpath, but
3D graphics on a 2D plane, new squad mechanics and water physics do
little to make this feel like a true step forward. More like a step to
the side.
