Zombie Tycoon 2 may not have much in terms of a single player experience but what it does have is a very fun and a very strategic RTS multiplayer experience that anyone, even those who aren't fans of RTS games can enjoy.

It’s a simmered down alternative to StarCraft and a good entry point into the RTS genre. It’s unfortunate that a few technical faults and the repetitive single player bogged down the title from being as great as it could have been.

The matches are cerebral and tense but the nature of the game keeps it more fun than struggle. You'll need wits, brains, and a superior strategy to overtake your enemy. Though the goal makes it sound simple you can actually wind up in some exciting spots while you struggle to defend the territories and buildings you gained that give you the extra strength needed to punch through enemy lines.

There’s a lot to enjoy in Zombie Tycoon 2, even though at first glance it might seem a little generic and barebones in comparison to more serious real-time strategy games.

A refreshingly simple hybrid of RTS depth and MOBA thrills, Zombie Tycoon 2 shines in multiplayer despite limited options. Just don't bother with its tedious, punishing single-player campaign.

Zombie Tycoon 2 is an entertaining attempt to bring RTS gameplay to consoles, with a healthy dose of humor and zombies for good measure. Simplified controls and streamlined tactics greatly assist the experience, but imprecise movements and a lack of consistency keep the single-player campaign back from its full potential.

It appears to be aimed more at newcomers to the genre rather than hardcore RTS fans, but it is sure to please both camps. With its simple controls and game play, it is a fun game to play in short bursts.

A zombie game that lets you control your own Zombies in the way of a classic RTS? Sounds cool. Looks cool, too. Plays … decent. But it gets boring real fast and some mechanics simply are not all that well executed.

If you want a strategy game with zombies, this is probably your best option. Be warned that you may get frustrated with the difficulty and tired with the tedious nature of the stages.

There are certainly enjoyable moments to be found in Zombie Tycoon 2: Brainhov’s Revenge, but they’re buried beneath repetitive gameplay and unnecessarily frustrating mechanics. The multiplayer chaos is just enough to keep you coming back, but things are never quite as well crafted as the charming art direction would lead you to believe.

Cross-buy, cross-play, cross-save: the three non-words every ‘PS3ita’ gamer hungers to hear. Zombie Tycoon 2 has all of these, and that’s what it does right. What it does wrong: its solo play is boring, and gets in the way of its rather decent multiplayer action.

Makes a good first impression with its clever controls, but ultimately abandons RTS fans by failing to create any real depth or options.

This is a mediocre and lackluster RTS that clearly isn’t ready for launch. When the playtime is doubled because of crippling bugs and still feels far too short you know something is not right. It gets extra credits for a charming design but demands that the player doesn’t need a motivation for killing innocent civilians.
