ZombiU will send shivers of fear and excitement up and down your spine in equal measure: it's the perfect showcase for what the Wii U is all about.

Overall I was extremely impressed by what ZombiU brought to the table for Wii U owners. It's a fantastically tense horror experience, and one of the best zombie themed games I've had the pleasure of playing.

No timid attempt at carving off a slice of the bloated zombie market, ZombiU takes a new path - one that cuts a swathe through the horde. If it's not quite perfect then that's no terrible criticism, and whatever else, it is one hell of a launch title.

These minor problems, however, rarely interfere with the pulse-quickening thrill of diving into a mass of infected and coming out alive on the other side. ZombiU isn't for everyone, but those who stick with it, through its unforgiving and occasionally frustrating difficulty, there's a an exhilarating experience to be had.

These kinds of games are not for everyone, and some people may not like ZombiU due to its high level of difficulty or clunky combat. However, if you appreciate the qualities of the older Resident Evil games, the challenge of a game like Dark Souls, and the exploration of a Metroid-style world, this game is absolutely for you. Enter the survival horror.

ZombiU is the perfect Wii U launch game for adult gamers: there's violence, monsters and it's actually quite scary. Because the death of your character is permanent and zombies are very hard to take down, playing ZombiU guarantees sweaty hands. The GamePad adds on to this experience by pulling you even further into the game world. ZombiU is scary, unique and only possible on the Wii U. Nintendo couldn't have wished for a better launch game.

A solid concept at its core already made sure that ZombiU was an attractive and interesting prospect even before it launched. What was delivered turned out to be a most attractive and addictive experience like none other in the current generation of games, especially as the Survival Horror genre having pretty much died over the last decade.

Can Wii U offer something more than just family entertainment? Zombi U is a clear answer that yes, it can.

ZombiU is slow and methodical, designed to build tension rather than pump adrenaline.

For fans of the survival horror genre, ZombiU is filled to the brink with challenges and many hours of gameplay.

The seamless integration of the GamePad hardware with the atmospheric gameplay is nothing short of a triumph, and Ubisoft deserves full credit for not only seeing the possibilities but capitalizing on them.

Ubisoft have definitely hit a home run with their Wii U exclusive, ZombiU that provides more scares than Resident Evil and some great use of the GamePad for this console. Add in decent gameplay and make sure your doors are locked because the realism of these zombies is quite unparalleled. It's a well designed game from start to finish.

An intense experience. ZombiU delivers one of the most intense experiences in recent history. Moody, violent and suitably tough, it managed to keep me playing long into the night.

Zombie U is one of the most intriguing Survival Horror titles of this generation. Is has some technical issues and some flaws in the narration process, but the atmosphere and the setting are amazing. It's a cruel game that makes you crawl in the darkness, completely alone and insecure. The Gamepad is used wisely, to stress the immersion of the player.

You won't beat survivor mode on your first playthrough, you'll die a lot, and you'll fear the dark more than in the majority of survival horrors released in the last generation of gaming. While the game isn't perfect, it's easily the best title available in the survival horror genre at the moment.

ZombiU is by far the most intense game we've played this year. Dead means dead and you can kiss that valuable crossbow or shotgun goodbye when a zombie sinks its teeth into you. ZombiU manages to trigger a primal instinct: survival. Assessing the situation, avoiding conflict at times and especially not doing rash or stupid things. ZombiU brings the zombie apocalypse into your living room in a way we haven't seen before.

The campaign isn't too terribly long, but its innovative perma-death mechanics make that experience enjoyable throughout.

It's not perfect and it's not for everyone, but ZombiU is a fantastic return of the survival horror genre.

As a first person survival horror, it's a great game, even though we feel certain aspects could have been improved. One of the best WiiU launch titles, and one of the very few titles that made us feel nervous in the last few years.

Whilst not being one of the coveted Ninty iconic characters in a launch title that fanboys are hungry for, it looks like this will satiate the hordes with its gritty realism (as much as it possibly can be in a title about fictional zombies), tense environments and an immersive control set-up thanks to Wii U's GamePad.
