Arkane's Raphael Colantonio says that fans of Dishonored, Prey and other Arkane games will be 'happy' when he reveals more information about his next project in a few weeks.

Arkane Studios' Raphael Colantonio said that WolfEye Studios - which he cofounded after leaving Arkane - will reveal more information about its new game within a few days. He also said that fans of previous first-person Arkane Studios games would be pleased.

Colantonio founded Arkane back in 1999, and made a small yet lasting splash with Arx Fatalis, a game inspired by Ultima Underworld. Then came Dark Messiah of Might and Magic which was a great game but didn't receive the attention it deserved. Dishonored was the game that put Arkane firmly on the map. After the release of Prey, which was underappreciated, he left Arkane and founded WolfEye. In 2022, he released Weird West - a game that combines the immersive sim genre with the isometric RPG.

In 2023, Colantonio’s WolfEye co-worker (and fellow Arkane vet) Julien Roby announced that the studio had signed an agreement with venture fund Galaxy Interactive for a new, "more ambitious" game. More than a year after, it sounds like we will finally get some idea of what it is.

Colantonio said today that he would reveal more information about his next game within a few days. "Fans of previous 1st-person games I worked on (Dishonored, Prey) will happy."

I'm happy to hear that WolfEye is working on something exciting. If there was ever any doubt, I have been a fan of Arkane since the beginning. And while I initially had some doubts, a third-person immersive game didn't seem like it would be very immersive. But Weird West quickly drew me in and exceeded my expectations.

I must admit that I was disappointed that Colantonio did not mention his earlier work in the teaser today--I am still holding out hope that Arx 2 will be released soon--but he explained this omission by replying to a separate tweet: "I also could have mentioned them." There are only so many characters you can use in a tweet." Now I'm excited.

Roby and WolfEye also joined in the fun:

Colantonio stated that the studio has not yet shown the game to the public or press, but is showing it only to "industry partner" companies. "Can't Wait though," he said, a sentiment that I share.
