Black Friday has brought my favorite gaming SSD to under $60 for 1TB.
I'll be honest: I don’t recommend people buy a SDD of 1 TB. There's nothing wrong with these drives, but because games are getting bigger, 2 TB or even more is better.
Prices haven't dropped much for such capacities because they are so popular. While the largest SSDs are the best value for money, they can be expensive. If you want to save some money, you should consider going down in size.
Welcome to the stage, the 1 TB Solid State Drive. In this case, I'm introducing my favorite, the Lexar NM790.

Amazon is offering the 1 TB SSD at a price of $60. It's not quite as cheap as it has ever been, but it's still worth considering.
We reviewed the 4TB version last year, and were impressed by its overall performance. Its thermals are also excellent, and it is a great value for money. Lexar is a relatively young player in the storage industry, but it has already made a name for itself with the NM790.
You may wonder how Lexar manages to keep its SSDs so affordable. Lexar uses less-known components (Maxiotech, YMTC and YMTC), but they are more than capable.
The drive doesn't have any dedicated DRAM, which would speed up the process. However, it has a large pseudo-SLC cache so the lack of DRAM won't be a problem unless you want to write hundreds of gigabytes at once.
If you want to give a boost to your gaming PC or want more space to play games, the Lexar NM790 will be a great choice.
