You'll have to work hard to convince me that there's a Black Friday gaming keyboard deal better than the $40 keeb that I use every day.

The Mountain Everest 60 keyboard is a great example of how you don't have to spend a lot on a good keyboard. I feel it my duty to remind everyone that mechanical gaming keyboards don't have to be expensive. Mountain Everest 60 is currently available at Amazon for only $40. It's only for Amazon Prime members. But it's still $50 without access to Jeff Bezos inner sanctum. The Everest 60 is a beautiful little thing, with its hot-swappable buttons and lovely dampened typing feeling... and it's now a complete bargain.

I honestly don't believe you'll find better Black Friday gaming keys before the new year.

As you can see from my Everest 60 Review, I'm a huge fan. It's the keyboard I use every day at home, despite the many keyboards I use on a daily basis. I could choose any keyboard and the Everest 60 is still my favorite.

You might be looking at the keyboard and thinking, "yeah it looks good, but I can't live without a numeric keypad." It's fine. I know that there are people who are obsessed with alt-codes, and there are games where the numeric pad is the default input device.

You don't need to miss out.

They are not available on Amazon at the moment, but you can get a very useful accessory for this tiny keyboard from Mountain: a modular numeric pad. The Everest 60 numpad is only $25 today.

The Everest 60 has an attachment that can be attached to either side the keyboard. This allows you to have it in either the standard (IMO, less-than-optimal) right-hand position or the superior left-hand position.

It's also hot-swappable so you can plug it in and it will instantly wake it up, allowing you to numpad. I keep my numpad in a shelf at the pegboard of my desk and only plug it in when I am working on some heavy benchmarking spreadsheets.

Like all enthusiast keebs it has a hot-swappable keyboard base, and the typing experience is excellent. Mountain may not be a name you're familiar with, but it has made my favorite gaming keyboard, and it's now super affordable.
