Blizzard’s next massive Diablo 4 Update will allow everyone to enjoy the endgame in half the amount of time and blasters to crank up the difficulty higher than ever.

Blizzard hasn't finished transforming Diablo 4 from an action RPG to something completely different than when it was launched. The current leveling system from 1 to 100 will be thrown out with the next update, and replaced by a completely new framework on how you advance your character.

"When we launched the games, we had a vision of it that we felt was really fun to play it once... but as we played it more and more, and as we got feedback [we realized] it hasn't been fun," said Colin Finer on a recent live stream detailing the upcoming updates.

Blizzard has made the leveling process in Diablo 4 much faster. It's no longer a 40-hour marathon. The best parts of Diablo 4 are still behind the world tiers or difficulty tiers that you cannot access until you complete specific dungeons. The early and mid-game has become a chore, as the game has gotten easier.

The world tier system and the leveling journey have been halved in the 2.0 update for Diablo 4, which will launch alongside the Vessel Of Hatred expansion, but will be available to everyone free of charge. To reach the new 60-level cap, players will have four basic difficulty options (normal, hard expert and penitent). These settings will not prevent you from having fun in the game or finding exciting loot.

You'll unlock Torment difficulty once you're powerful enough to complete a certain dungeon, The Pit. The game will become harder in Torment 1 and above, but the loot will be better, not different. It's essentially the same as playing on normal.

The game will progress based on how far you want your character to go, not how much you want to play. This way, no one is left out, and the parts of the game which quickly become trivial will have value once again.

Blizzard is going to run a playtest of all these changes for a week starting next week. The game will also feature the new runewords, which allows you to borrow skills from another class. There will be plenty of new items and quests. For example, a helmet that boosts your damage when fighting angels - an enemy type that does not yet exist in the title. Blizzard did not elaborate on the topic during the stream. I guess we will have to wait until Oct. 8 to find out if we will be fighting more than just demons in Vessel of Hatred.
