Crusader Kings III players have petted their digital cats and dogs over 11 million times

Paradox Interactive shared some statistics in celebration of the fourth anniversary of Crusader Kings 3. The historical grand strategy game puts players in the shoes ruling families throughout eurasia during medieval times. It allows you to do immersive historical stuff such as die of the black famine, fight a stupid battle because of your stupid relative, and get a dog or cat for pet.

Crusader Kings III players have petted puppies and kittens in large numbers. This is 6,175,718 cats and 5,403,239 dogs.

Also, there are some interesting stats, such as the most-started regions on the map, which include Brittania, France, Scandinavia, Byzantium and Spain. It's interesting that Brittania has nearly 10 million more start than France, the runner-up. France, with 14 million starts, is only a few million away from Spain in fifth place. It's also a little strange that Byzantium is among the top five regions, even though it won't get its own unique mechanics until later this year.

Paradox also revealed that Petty King Murchad, of Ireland, is the top pick. It's funny to see this over a decade since Murchad was chosen as the player character for PC Gamer Crusader Kings 2 Chronicles.

The last time Paradox provided us with these statistics, we learned that players were about 45% more likely than not to fall in love.

Crusader Kings 3 players have had a great year. In September, a much-anticipated expansion will let them play as landless explorers and expand the landowning system within the Byzantine Empire. Also, they got a comic and male pattern baldness.
