Deadlock's major first patch includes wall jumping, over a 100 balance changes and more than a hundred new features.

I logged into Steam today and found Deadlock downloading a patch of 683MB. I wondered what the patch might contain, so I checked Steam's news feed, which was empty, and Steam’s "Events & Announcements" forum, which was also empty. The patch notes are posted in a different forum that you can only access if you generate a password using the main menu for Deadlock. This suggests a strange distaste towards Steam's official methods of disseminating patches coming from a Steam-made game.

You'll find plenty of information in the patch notes once you defeat the tiger guarding the basement where Valve has hidden them. The main additions encourage vertical play with a new wall-jump move that doesn't use stamina and ropes on the map which lead to rooftops. You can also shoot from these ropes while climbing. There are now additional passages that lead up to the rooftops in some buildings. It's an excellent day to be a shooter.

Deadlock has also been patched because many players were surprised that Deadlock adhered to the MOBA mainstay, allowing players to pause the game. Each player can only pause once per match. A team can pause up to three times. You trolls can no longer pause the game to stream a different game in the middle of a match.

A new profile page was added, which includes a breakdown of all-time statistics, as well as recent match stats. However, some counters are starting at zero, such as souls collected and healing, no matter how many hours of Deadlock alpha you have managed to squeeze in.

Many of the other changes are minor. The bullet resistance of Monster Rounds against NPCs has been increased from 30% to 35 %, while Hollow Point Rounds' spirit shield buff has been increased from +80 up to +85.   • - Added new Profile page which displays a breakdown on recent matches as well as all-time statistics for players and heroes (Note: The newly added stats of 'Souls collected' and 'Healing are starting at zero for all players).
  • - Added a Report button to the ESC menu to allow reporting in-game of teammates

  • The game application flashes now when the game is unpaused

  • Added streamer option to the Options panel. The player names are hidden in the game UI panel.

  • - Added a new "Game Out of Date" status message to the top of the hud so that you can know quickly when there is an upgrade rather than having to wait until queue time.

  • - Added a state of unavailable to the Zipline UI while Zipline is on cooldown
  • - Spectating controls use the Left/Right Mouse buttons to switch between players in a team, and space to change teams. This works now with free cursor mode and you can still select portraits/minimaps to view individual heroes.
  • - Added a new respawn music that plays 5 seconds before the respawn
  • - Added alternative shop music that plays in the neutral store
  • - The spectator count is now displayed in-game
  • - The names of players are now visible to spectators

[ Misc Gameplay]

  • - Wall jumping (doesn't consume stamina but requires input direction away the wall. Can be done only once)
  • - Moved the flex slot "Set of enemy Base Guardians", to "All Enemy Lane Guardians".
  • - Some buildings have ropes added to them to allow you to climb up. (Hold jump key to latch on to them). You can shoot while hanging from them.
  • - A pair teleporters have been added to the outer lanes near the three neutral creeps (red).
  • Four teleporters changed locations
  • - The teleporters on the upper floors have been moved to street level
  • - The interior Teleporters have been moved to the Bodega Building and the Theater
