Diablo 4 cow-hunting experts find some real cows in their latest discovery

Since the release of Diablo 4, one mystery has been looming large: Where is cow level? Despite Rod Fergusson's quick dismissal of the idea, history shows that a group has dedicated themselves to finding the cow level, despite the fact that it doesn't officially exist.

In a quick recap, there was no cow level available in 1997's Diablo. However, rumors of a cow-level were so widespread that Blizzard North included a cow level later in Diablo 2. One eventually appeared in Diablo 3. And the cows had even been nodded in World of Warcraft. Heck, it is significant enough to get its own Wikipedia entry.

Cow hunters in the Not Finding a Cow Level Discord Channel make small breakthroughs, or at least they think they do. It was a big deal when a player killed 666 cattle in November, and a previously unavailable Musty Tome appeared.

The latest development, as spotted by WoWhead, is the discovery of relics that are related to Diablo 3 within the Vessels of Hatred expansion. This eventually led to the Rusted Bardiche. The Now Finding a Cow Level team is once again trying to avoid finding a cow level. This time, they found three Scrolls of Uacax at the Kurast Docks in Samuk and Kichuk. Each item's descriptions contain hints about Lord Uacax's history. The final reveal is that the name Uacax may be a rough interpretation, meaning "Lord Cow", in Yucatec Maya.

The scrolls will guide players through the various hoops they need to jump through to defeat the Elite Blood Lightning. It says Uacax "defeated the monster untrained in battle". The trick is to reset your character's abilities and skills, dismiss any mercenaries and then beat it with your level 1 attack.

The next step is to obtain the scroll that links birdsong to bells. Players must run through the Five Hills Subzone, visiting 12 different statues of birds, before the final bell drops.

Players must kill three Cordycepic zombies north of Ichorfall in a way that they spawn black mushrooms. The players then drop the three relics into this area, corrupting them to give off a purple-colored smoke animation.

You'll then be sent to the Oka'bo Temple, where you'll have to give the three corrupted artifacts to three braziers. In return, you'll receive an Unusual key, which can be used to unlock the Forlorn Burrow at Kurast Bazaar. There's a wall that can be broken in a cellar, and behind it are... cows.

The Rusted Bardiche is your reward for killing all the innocent cows. That's it. This discovery is one of the most significant in the search for Moo Moo Farm. What's more, it's all very well thought out. Yes, the hoop-jumping may be a bit excessive, but the in-game text explains everything that players do, and there is a definite logic from beginning to end.

The Not Finding a Cow Level Discord is continuing its tireless work. Blizzard is ready to accept them. Joe Piepiora, associate game director, said last year, "If people have any items from their Cow campaigns, they should hold on to them". Keep that Rusted Bardiche.
