Fallout 76 will receive its next major update in the form of a dungeon 'in a traditional MMO style', which will feature 'the largest boss ever seen in a Fallout'

During the Fallout Day live broadcast, we were given a good look at what we can expect from Fallout 76’s next major update. There are a lot of new features and improvements, as well as a brand new raid.

Fallout 76 was updated with a major map expansion that included Skyline Valley. There were many new areas and quests for players to explore. There was also the Blue Ridge Caravan, a mission that required players to work together in order to escort supplies through Skyline Valley. As long as you had good weapons and teamwork, it was easy to complete. But this next raid is a whole other level.

Chris Marshall, senior designer of quests, said that the Gleaming depths is a traditional MMO style dungeon. It should challenge our endgame players. The upcoming raid takes place in an abandoned research lab of the enclave where scientists have been studying ultragenesis, a phenomenon where glowing green glass-like ultracite ore spreads throughout the earth.

The raid is a long and difficult task. It's recommended that players are at least level 300 before taking on this challenge. "Your team will be forced to face several extremely difficult encounters and there is no way back once you begin," said creative director Jon Rush. "You win, or you die."

The first step of The Gleaming Depths is to defeat the guardian. This giant robot acts as a violent doorman to the laboratory, guarding the entrance. After you defeat the robot, you will have to navigate dark tunnels lit up by glowing green ultracite in order to find a drilling machine. You'll need to do a lot of work to get the drill to work. You will have to fill it with fuel and also fight off mole miners that want to steal the drill.

But that's just the beginning. The stalker is a mole-miner on steroids who gets into a rage after smelling too much ultracite. This beast can really pack a powerful punch. It's best just to avoid him and focus on getting your drill running.

After completing the task, you'll have to run around in dark caverns until you encounter Enclave Squad Epsilon. This powerful trio of fighters is made up of agents Bloodhound Vulture and Lynx. The difficulty increases here. Rush said that the fight will "require precise teamwork to overcome and deliver a final blow" for players. After you defeat these guys, you will have to face the stalker again and then the Ultracite Terror, the real challenge of this raid.

This monster is a giant, green snake so powerful that it's only for the highest-level players. Ryan Fox, the producer of The Gleaming Depths, said that his favourite part was the Ultracite Terror. When you first see it, it's intimidating. It's huge and there's no getting around it.

Bill LaCoste said that this content would be the one that drives our endgame users. The idea was conceived in a Bethesda Studios' game jam, but it quickly gained a cult following across all studios through the magic of puppetry. Rush decided to create a puppet show before the Ultracite Terror could be envisioned as a game.

The tiny Ultracite Terror was shown in a clip during the broadcast. I saw it again when I interviewed Jon Rush. "Rather than spending a lot of money on the VE model, getting it into engine, building a large set, doing the animations, and all that, we decided [the puppet] would be pretty straightforward," Rush said. "Record it on your iPhone and act it, like kids smashing action figures together." The fight at the end of the game with ultracite terror is 90% of what we had planned, just with puppets.

Erin Bower, an environment artist, said: "It is definitely the biggest boss of Fallout 76 and it could be the biggest in any Fallout game." If you can defeat this beast then the rewards will be worth it. LaCoste said during the broadcast that this raid would reward players with new four-star weapons and armour. These items will be a huge step up from the three-star items that players are used to. They also reflect a growing need for more powerful weapons and armour in Fallout 76.

Rush told me that people wanted to take the next step in power and they wanted that next challenge. They wanted something that would knock them down. "I think that it answers a lot of the questions our older game players have had for quite some time."

The December update includes more than just The Gleaming Depths. C.A.M.P. and new player titles are also included in the December update. Pets and new titles for players will also be available. C.A.M.P. The first announcement of pets was made during the Xbox Livestream at the Tokyo Game Show. It explained that players could adopt a dog or cat and then fill their base with trinkets so they feel like their new furry friends. LaCoste explained that players will be able interact with their pets, dress them and even place furniture in their camp like a cat scratching pole or a dirt pile filled with bones.

The final feature mentioned in the Fallout Day Broadcast was the upcoming titles for players. There will be several options available for prefixes and suffixes, such as Dread/Beast/fool and Bossy/Dirty/Rotten. If you're not creative enough to create something unique, you can take inspiration from some of the devs' creations, such as Midnight Bot-Beater. Gulper Technician. Gleaming Raid. Rookie. Scorched Sightseer. and Bloodied Adventurer. All of these options can be unlocked by completing challenges and quests.
