Fallout London project leader discusses all bugs, including the infamous crash of the train.

Joshua Wolens, PCG writer, says Fallout: London can be a really impressive mod--once you get it to work and are able to navigate the performance issues and bugs.

Since the release of the mod, players have reported several game-ending crashes. One, affectionately called the "train crash," has plagued many players. Boarding the train in a post-apocalyptic London will likely cause your game to crash, but there will also be a strange bug which will reduce players' health.

In an interview with VG247, Dean Carter, project manager at VG247, says: "The issue of the train crash has been widely reported. "We never had it. We wouldn't release if we had it. None of our testers were able to reproduce this. We're not certain if anything actually happened with the final download or something. But it's these sorts of things that have been a little surprising to us."

"You put all your heart and soul into something, and you realize that no matter how hard it's been worked, everything is held together by duct tape." So, [Fallout London's] held up better than we expected, but many of the issues we've experienced, or that people have reported, are not ones we had.

Fallout: London developers Team FOLON have promised to release an enormous hotfix ASAP. In the meantime, however, the only way to fix the HP bug that occurred after the train crash, is to do some math homework.

Carter says: "I think the order we're doing it in will be a Hotfix that should include things like Buffout 4, [mod]," Carter adds, "So the sort of systems people have said is almost a necessity to run, those we got permission for. We didn't get permission to mention them before, so people had to go out and buy them. Since we released, they are more inclined to work with us. So now we're going to do a hotfix which should include things such as Buffout 4, that will help stability and these issues.

Some issues can be resolved without a hotfix. Check out the Solutions Megathread created by Team FOLON if you are having a problem. It is possible to cause crashes and bugs by not following the right download steps.

Carter says, "Our biggest complaint is when people install things incorrectly and then claim that it's their fault." "We know that Steam is not the easiest platform to install on. We understand that and have done our best. We have a tech team that has been helping with those types of issues.

Installing Fallout: London was a difficult experience. Due to the next-gen update of Fallout 4 breaking Fallout: London compatibility, you will need to downgrade to play the mod. Team FOLON announced previously that the latest Fallout 4 version was "not stable enough."

Carter admits, despite the technical difficulties, that Fallout: London has been a fairly successful launch: "In terms the release itself, we actually thought it would go a lot better."
