Here's a new indie that turns classic RTS into a modern Roguelike

A new indie RTS takes the classic formula of base-building and adds a roguelike touch. Rogue Command is a first-time developer's RTS that sends you through a classic Roguelike run of linked RTS Skirmish Matches. After each match, you are given random choices of upgrades and units. You can then use these to build a new order of units for the next fight. The demo is now available and the game will be released into early access on Nov. 18.

"Rogue Command" is a classic RTS. The developers say that you can control your units, build a base, harvest resources and explore the map. You can also defend positions, come up with an attack plan, and defend your position.

"But rather than learning your build orders, you have to come up with a brand new build every time you start a race."

The blueprints will not only add new buildings but also units, turrets and healing towers. There are also plans to add super weapons and buff abilities. Engineers will also be able to change the way each run begins.

Rogue Command also features randomized maps as you would expect from a Roguelike. The maps will be a mix of procedurally generated biomes, ruins, and surprises, along with the waves of enemies. There are also mentions of random weather effects.

"Lure your enemy into a fog that slows them down or stun them with static bushes." Launch surprise attacks under the cover of a sandstorm, or wait for rain to take on powerful enemies who are dependent on burning damage," says developer.

Rogue Command will be released on Steam on November 18. Demos are available right now.
