Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered's system requirements are almost identical to Forbidden Dawn
Horizon Forbidden West will work perfectly with the upcoming remaster of Horizon Zero Dawn. The recommended system requirements for Horizon Zero Dawn are the same as those of Forbidden West.
The minimum requirements for the remaster is higher than those for the original. It requires a minimum of 16GB RAM and GPUs that are several generations younger. If you have an old PC, you may be better off sticking with the older version. Unfortunately, the only way you can get the older version of Horizon Zero Dawn is to purchase it as part a bundle that costs $10 more ($49.99 total) than the standalone remaster ($39.99). Don't bother searching for third-party key sellers. Sony has wiped Horizon Zero Dawn's standalone original edition off the planet.
It's even more annoying that Horizon Zero Dawn, the original version, is Steam Deck verified. Horizon Forbidden West, on the other hand, is "unsupported", which means that you can be reasonably confident that the remastered Horizon Zero Dawn won't also be supported (the Steam page says that Steam Deck support for Horizon Zero Dawn is "Unknown". It doesn't mean that Forbidden West can't be played on Deck. Our friends at Tom's Guide have made it work.
Horizon Zero Dawn Remastered System Requirements:
Andy stated that the original was delisted in October, likely in line with Sony's recent requirement for a PSN account to play PC games. The announcement was met with some skepticism in October about the value of a Zero Dawn Remaster four years after its PC release. It was already an upgrade to the original console games. However, until Sony remasters Bloodborne or remakes it for PC, any Sony PC port is likely to be derided by some quarters. Because Bloodborne is the only thing that matters, I say.
