I am here for this zombie-themed game set in an ancient market town

God Save Birmingham is a survival crafting game that was announced by Ocean Drive Studio. The concept appears to be a peasant with his pitchfork against hordes of zombies. God Save Birmingham, a "physics based" game that was recently posted on Steam and released a short alpha video at Gamescom this week, will be set in a "painstakingly recreated medieval town."

The trailer shows an average-looking guy dodging zombies on the muddy streets and fields of a medieval town, all while armed only with a pitchfork. God Save Birmingham's mechanics are physics driven, so the character will stumble and slide through the world. The zombies will also engage in some slapstick stunts like tripping on benches.

The look at historical authenticity is what appeals to many people, including myself.

Explore a carefully reconstructed 14th-century Birmingham in all its bucolic and bubonic glory. Forage for resources at the Markets and Burgage Plots. The studio suggests that you raid boarded up smithies to find tools, grab a beer at the nearest tavern and explore the historic architecture of the Church of St. Martin in Bull Ring.

God Save Birmingham is a relatively new project for Ocean Drive.

In a Steam update, it said: "We have been working on this game for just five months. We started with only two people in the first four month and now we are a strong team consisting of six." "With a larger team, we hope that we can speed up our development so that you can play God Save Birmingham as quickly as possible."

God Save Birmingham is available on Steam. It doesn't have a release yet.
