In its latest Gamescom teaser, Kingdom Come: Deliverance II imagines a medieval Europe dominated by swords.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2 appeared at today's Opening Night Live at Gamescom. A brief gameplay teaser was revealed for the upcoming sequel of the middle-ages RPG. Henry is back and the world's plainest protagonist seems to only have one goal: Relentless swordfights against as many 15th-century Bohemians as possible.

Henry is threatened by a jagoff wearing a crown at the beginning of the trailer. It's not long until he escapes and does things heroes do, such as riding a beloved horse across the sunset-splashed Bohemian Plains, where everyone speaks with an inexplicable British Accent and every tree has Medieval Unfortunates hung from its branches. You wouldn't know that a civil conflict is taking place if you didn't see it. This is how visual storytelling works.

Henry passes through taverns and muddied streets. He also passes through more idyllic fields. All of these look beautiful. Finally, after a brief diversion at the hanging zone, he gets what we know he came for. Henry has brought enough swords to share.

The festival of slashing is short. Henry does cock a crossbow, but it is only a formality. He then returns to his favorite pastime: striking his enemies with every weaponizable edge of his longsword.

If the teaser has left you hungry for more bladecraft, tomorrow at 9 AM CEST, a longer Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 gameplay demo will be released. I'm certain there will be plenty of swords being swung.

Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2, originally scheduled for 2024, will now be released on February 11, 2025. This is a slight delay.
