Jensen Huang, Nvidia's Jensen Huang, admits to sleeping only three hours a night.

We all face pressures in our professional lives. Some of us are under more pressure than others. Although Nvidia's CEO position comes with many perks, it also comes with a lot of responsibility, especially as the company rides on the AI hardware wave.

Jensen Huang, who spoke at the Goldman Sachs Communnacopia + Technology conference this week, admitted that working with every major tech company isn't easy.

"Our company works with all AI companies in the world...I don't even know a single data center, cloud service provider or computer manufacturer that we're not involved with. This comes with a lot of responsibility.

"...delivery is emotional for people because it directly impacts their revenues and competitiveness. We probably have more emotionally charged customers today...and they are deservedly so.

It's very emotional and tense. We have a lot of responsibilities on our shoulders, and we are trying to do our best.

It's not surprising that Nvidia's head honcho feels the pressure. The demand for Blackwell AI GPUs was unprecedented, with tens and thousands of orders being placed before the announcement. It is therefore difficult to meet the demands of some the world's biggest companies for just that segment of their business.

"Everyone wants to be the first, everyone wants to be the most...and so, intensity is really, truly quite extraordinary"

Huang still seems to be enjoying his life despite the turmoil that comes with being the darling in the tech industry.

"It's exciting to me to invent the next computer age." It's exciting to see these amazing applications being developed. "It's amazing to see robots walk around," he continued. "All of that is just amazing to see."

No doubt. Denying me my sleep is the best way to stop me having fun. Jensen seems to be a different story:

"The part that is really intense is just a world on our shoulders." Three solid hours of sleep is all we need.

It can't be easy to be at the top. Nvidia is in so many pies these days that managing them all seems like an enormous strategic headache. The financial benefits are just as overwhelming as the workload, but given how many pies it has its fingers in, the management of everything must be a huge headache. The double-edged blade of success, perhaps, but if I were given just three hours of sleep per night, I would ruin this article and any major company.

Maybe owning a beautiful leather jacket is the key. Nvidia is on a relentless march to the future, and it's not slowing down. Huang says Blackwell AI GPUs are expected to ship in Q4 this year before scaling up into next year. Nvidia customers, it seems, can't wait.
