Tom's Hardware has given this SSD a good review. It's fast enough for a Steam Library expansion, but at a shockingly low price per gigabyte. This is one of the best deals I've seen on Prime Day.

This SSD deal at B&H is the best value I've seen and has plenty of storage for a lot of games.

Silicon Power UD90. B&H is currently selling the 2 TB version at $98.97, which is $46 less than the usual price. It's also only 5 cents per gigabyte. That's significantly less than other products on sale.

The UD90 is a budget-driven machine. It won't win any awards for performance. You won't notice the difference between a Steam Library and a drive that is faster and more expensive. I wouldn't use it for a boot drive, but it will work well for a large expansion of my library.

Tom's Hardware has reviewed the UD90, and it received a thumbs-up. They cited its competitive performance against similar drives, and that's more than enough for an average user.

You could spend more money to get something faster. If you want speeds above 7,000 MB/s you will need to spend around $0.07/GB. For example, the Lexar NM790 is a drive that I have used extensively and reviewed previously. It is well worth the price. You can get one with a capacity of 2 TB for just $140.

You'd save more money by buying two 2 TB UD90s than a 4 TB model, but you'd waste an NVMe slot in your motherboard or expansion cards. You'd also get more redundancy in case something goes wrong.

If you're curious about what else is available, we have a number of other SSD deals on our October Prime Day SSD Deals page.

This Silicon Power drive is not the fastest, but with so much storage at this price it's hard to argue. It's not slow, but it isn't fast either. With sequential read/write speeds of 5,000 MB/s & 4,500 MB/s it should be good enough for gaming." data-widget-type="deal" data-render-type="editorial">
