Lenovo is reportedly working on a Nintendo Switch. Leaks suggest a Legion Go Lite, and a Legion Go Gen Two.

Nintendo Switch changed the public's perception of gaming handhelds. The Switch is not a powerful device but it has sold (and continues to sell) remarkably. The smaller Nintendo Switch Lite also did well.

Lenovo may be taking a page from Nintendo's playbook, as a mix-up with some Legion Go Dock specifications has revealed the existence of a Legion Go Gen Two and a Lite Version, err...

Lenovo has kept this secret very poorly. Recently, we reported on text found on the Legion Go product page which seemed to refer to both a smaller device and possibly a refreshed version. The specs for the Legion Go USB-C Dock have now been released, and they seem to have revealed the game once again. The supported systems mention the Legion Go Gen One Gen Two, as well as the Legion Go Lite.

Videocardz was the first to notice these new listings. A YouTuber has also posted leaked images of what appears to be the shell of the Legion Go Lite. Lenovo may as well give us a proper look at this point, I would think.

The casing appears to be a smaller Legion Go without the detachable controls of the original. This is not surprising for a model which appears to call itself "Lite". We were fans of the original Switch detachable modules and it's a pity to see them go.

It was a bit of a chocker, so a Lite edition is a smart move. While PC gaming handhelds can be heavy, this new model is still too big to fit into jeans. However, it will likely fit into a backpack that's already overflowing with other items.

What about a full-fledged Gen 2 model? There's a chance that we could see some new internals with more power. The original used the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme but the APU market has evolved since then.

I personally am looking forward to any Lunar Lake-based handhelds that we see now that we're beginning to see the chips being used--but, I have a feeling it could be a simple screen refresh (fingers crossed for OLED!) The Asus ROG Ally X is a good example of a subtle refinement to the original design.

Lenovo should announce the new models as soon as possible. Lenovo could have two hits on its hands if both models manage to refine their respective recipes (albeit in different manners).

The original Legion Go was a big machine, but it was still impressive. While the world waits for more information on the Nintendo Switch 2, a more refined Legion Go in conjunction with a smaller model might help Lenovo attract new customers.
