Nintendo fans wanted new hardware. The monkey's paw curled and they got a clock
There's plenty of merchandise for the Nintendo Adult you know. You want a GameBoy mug that changes temperature? Animal Crossing-themed Monopoly? Mario Kart t-shirt with the phrase "Do you even drag, bro?" All of these exist. Now, there is an official Nintendo alarm that plays official Nintendo music while playing official Nintendo sound effects to rouse you from your laziness and get your day started.
Alarmo allows you to choose music from games such as Super Mario Odyssey, Pikmin 4 Breath of Wild, and Splatoon 3 It doesn't only play these jolly tunes when you wake up. It also has a motion sensor so it can add sound effects when you move, turn and try to jam your pillow over your face, like Mario's coin collecting ding or splats of gunshots in Splatoon. It will play a triumphant finish when you finally get up.
There's more! Alarmo can also play game-themed "sleepy" sounds when you get in bed, display animations of Nintendo characters on its screen every hour, and track your sleep and movement patterns like a creepy bedside creep. Nintendo's database on nerds' sleeping patterns will be complete with this and Pokemon Sleep. But for what purpose?
Alarmo can be connected to the internet, allowing you to download additional sounds and updates. In 2024, we will need DLC for alarm clocks. Keep waiting if you were hoping Nintendo would announce anything about the Switch 2 by October.
