Pinnacle Point is a spooky, low-fi horror film that has a PSX vibe.

A new indie horror title has a lot of promising vibes, and the look I know many of us like to see in horror titles. Pinnacle Point, by solo developer Robin Shen aka Ready2Run is a game full of neon, fog, and blocky polygons, which encapsulates the lo-fi feel of the PSX gaming era.

Pinnacle Point is a classic survival horror with exploration, puzzles, and tense battles. It will use a mix of modern dynamic camera and more PSX-era fix perspectives to keep you on your toes, and have a strange non-linear story that you discover via environmental hints and game notes.

"Aron is on a mission to find his brother in Pinnacle Point. He has been entangled with a sinister company that claims to have a solution to immortality. As he infiltrates the ranks of this sinister corporation, he discovers a horrifying fact: their version eternal life comes with a high price. Aron must navigate through this treacherous land, risking his soul, to save the life of his brother.

"The line between nightmare and reality blurs as your explore the experiments of the corporation and your brother's destiny. Ready2Run says that the world is filled with atmospheric horror thanks to the full voice acting and meticulously designed environments.

Pinnacle Point's recent screenshots and videos have this great interlace effect, which makes them even more of the era for the late 1990s and early 2000s. It mimics the CRT fuzz, but without being too intrusive. Though I'd imagine it'll be a feature you can turn off if that's not your thing.

Pinnacle Point is available on Steam. The release date is "coming soon" at this time. You can follow Robin Shen, the developer, on Twitter and YouTube.
