Sega has confirmed that Sonic Generations is still available in a bundle, despite its imminent delisting.

Sonic x Shadow Generations will be a new version of the 2011 3D platformer Sonic Generations later this year. The original Sonic Generations will be delisted before then, which is not something that many people are happy about. Sega, in response to feedback from fans, has announced that Sonic Generations Collection, currently available, will remain as part of a Sonic bundle with other older Sonic titles.

"On September 9th, the original version Sonic Generations won't be available on Steam as a stand-alone title. We've listened to player feedback and are offering a way for you to play the original version of the game. Sega's FAQ on Steam states that the original version of Sonic Generations is still available as part the new Sonic the Hedgehog Legacy Bundle. This bundle also includes other classic Sonic titles.

It's probably best. Sonic Generations is a decade old, and despite the excitement surrounding the updated Sonic X Shadow Generations and all concerns about game preservation, it would begin to wither if there was no legal way to obtain the game. It is one of the few 3D Sonic games that are good.

The new bundle will include Sonic Generations Collection and Sonic Adventure DX. It also includes Sonic Adventure 2, Sonic Adventure 2 Battle. Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 1, Sonic the Hedgehog 4: Episode 2, Sonic 3D Blast, and Sonic Spinball. The bundle will retail for $59.99. However, "bundle contents and pricing may vary based on region."

Sonic Generations Collection is available on Steam until September 9, when it will be removed.
