Sintopia is an interactive town-building and god game where you are in charge of the bureaucracy in Hell.
A new hybrid god game and city-builder aims to combine the appeal of games such as Dungeon Keeper, with modern management game structure. Sintopia is an early access game that will be released in 2025. You are in charge of Hell's bureaucracy, making sure people are punished properly for their sins, and can behave in their next life. This means that you need to do a good job of laying out and building Hell's infrastructure in order to keep the souls flowing and repenting. You'll need to hire competent "Employees", to do the work.
Sintopia is unique because it uses the same multi-layered underworld/overworld dynamic that makes Dungeon Keeper so intriguing. You must punish people to prevent their souls from being corrupted by too many sins when they reborn. Too many sins can trigger a "demonic invader." You can also invoice heaven to get paid for all your hard work.
In true god-game fashion, the administrator of Hell has the ability to do things with the overworld and their own domain. A zap, for instance, could be used to convince a lazy person to speed up, or to burn down their house.
"In Sintopia, you will demonstrate to the Humus populating Overworld your hellish existence by casting spells and influencing the sins. Reign over the rabble of your Imployees as they punish the souls of the dead, generating profits to help you sustain and build your Hellish Empire! Sintopia combines the sandbox gameplay of a God Game with the deep systems of a Management Simulator, all packaged up in an 1980's pop-culture hellscape," state developers Piraknights Games.
Piraknights says that Sintopia, which is a game in development, will be launched into early access. The loop will represent the final game and include the majority of the "straightforward/early-midgame" stuff. They also plan to use as many procedural generation options as possible for the world. They say that it will stay in early access around a year.
Sintopia is available on the Sintopia website and Steam.
