Skibi-DMCA has apparently sued Garry's Mod on behalf of Michael Bay and his Skibidi Toilet studio: 'Can't you believe the cheek'

In what could be called a brave legal move, Garry Newman, of Garry's Mod fame, claims he has been served a DMCA for Skibidi Toilet. This is the baffling Generation Alpha meme that features a Half-Life 2 Character's head beatboxing on a toilet. It was made originally in Garry's Mod, and talks are underway to make it into a Michael Bay film. This is the reality of our world and we have to accept it, you and I.

Newman revealed the DMCA in a post in the S&box Discord Channel. He posted a screenshot where someone claiming to be acting on behalf of Michael Bay's film studio Invisible Narratives, (the one that is attached to the Skibidi Toilet Cinematic Universe), accuses Garry’s Mod of misusing Skibidi Toilet copyrighted characters like "Titan Speakerman, Titan Cameraman, Titan TV Man, and Skibidi Toilet." The request makes it clear that "there is absolutely no licensed Steam content, Valve content, or Garry's mod content related to Skibidi Toilet."

What do you know? Invisible Narratives has claimed the rights to Titan Cameraman.

"Can you believe this cheek?" Newman wrote on Discord. He's right: Skibidi toilet owes Garry's mod a lot. It uses the same Half-Life 2 resources that people have been messing around with for years in GMod, and creator Alexey “Dafuqboom” Gerasimov credits GMod's machinima as a major inspiration.

Gerasimov even tried to contact Newman himself on the S&box Discord. "I did not strike Garry's mod and I'm trying understand what else is written on the letter!"

This certainly makes it seem like the whole thing is a bit of mystery. GMod could have been caught in the legal tizzy over the upcoming Skibidi Toilet film, and the rights Gerasimov gave to Bay and his co-stars to make it. Or maybe it's all a prank.

I've contacted Newman to inquire about his response to the DMCA. I will update this article if I receive a reply. Skibidi will tell the story.
